Shopping for some tires not sure what size i should go with. Tirerack.com calls out i need a 265/70/16 then americas tire website says 255/65/16 not looking for anything real fancy the cheaper the better this is going to be my daughters first car so i dont want to spend 200 a tire if possible. Found the Hankook Dynapro ATM for 114 a piece at americas tire seems like the best deal so far

All street driving?

I'd go with a good all-season like the Firestone Destination LE2 or the Michelin LTX MS/2.

Basically any of these top reviewed tires on Tirerack.com
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/surveyresults/surveydisplay.jsp?type=HAS

I have the Destination LE2s and they have been great over 2 years and 30,000 miles so far. Handles dry, rain, and snow well. And they're quiet.
Tirerack.com is showing the LE2s for $120 a tire for 265/75/R16 (slightly oversized). Stock size may be cheaper.

Try looking at 265/75/16's. In some tires this size is actually cheaper because it is more commonly used I guess. Just remember not to go too cheap on tires, they are what connects you to the road.

Tires are tires are tires. Oldest tech left on the road. I have yet to even have my cheap china made tires have any issues. Cheap just wears out faster. Its not even funny how much they still charge for tires when there is barely any R&D. More than it cost to buy a smartphone that is 1 million times more advance.

I don't have much experience with very many tires since I commute in my 4Runner primarily, however, I do with vendors. I've purchased from Sears, America's Tires, Les Schuab and by far America's Tires are the best, hands down. They offer free balancing (good for these 4Runners) and have been super helpful and great pricing for what you get. There's a few guys at the one I go to that have build up some old Toyotas so they know exactly what I need and what I am looking for.

Personally, I think making sure you daughter has a reliable and friendly place to go to if she has any problems with her tires is more important than the actual tires.
