Need to figure out where all the evap VSVs are located on a 97 LTD

Anyone have a decent schematic for the evap canister and associated VSVs; which I belive there are 3?

One I can find that is attached to the charcoal canister itself. I'll assume that the EGR VSV is the second of the three, but I don't know where the third one is.

I should mention that this is on a 1997 Ltd — so it's not the later style located back by the fuel tank.

Any thoughts are much appreciated!

Oh and what's the preferred method for testing if the VSV switches actually work? Seems I read once that you can't test with a 9v battery and a snap connector, but I must be mistaken since our trucks are 12v.

So I've pulled the vsv located on the canister and applied power with a 9v but I do not hear any click sound. I also pulled a whole canister out of a junkyard truck and applied power to the VSV on it and also heard nothing.

Is the VSV supposed to click? Or is the 9v battery insufficient to operate the valve? My next step is to pick up some alligator clips and apply power while blowing into the valve and see if it is open and allowing some air flow.

Anyone have any experience testing these things? Is there a different way to test it?
