Needed Maintenance at 50k?

Hi guys,

I have a 2013 SR5 Forerunner with 50k miles on it and I live 90 miles from the nearest dealer. I had it in to the dealer for their warranty checkup at 24000 and have been having oil changes done at Walmart with a synthetic oil since then. Besides having the tires changed, I have not done any other maintenance. Does anyone know of any routine maintenance that should be done at 50k? Guessing the brake pads should be changed?

Thanks,

Dan

Did you look in the manual and at the service interval info. Some service item times change depending on your driving habits and driving conditions.

So, other than oil changes and tires it looks like you have done nothing for 26K miles. That and trusting your rig to WalMart must mean you like living on the the edge.

Brake pads are another wear item; so rates differ depending on your driving habits and conditions. A system inspection would be a good idea. You would probably be better off going to Toyota and getting all your service aspects up to date. If you don't like the dealer idea; then I suggest a competent mechanic that has Toyota experience. There are several things you didn't mention that should be checked, tested, replaced, cleaned, etc. Like the cabin air filter for example. Seriously spend a few hours reading those manuals!
