Congrats and welcome to the board! You made an extremely smart decision switching over to Toyota. How does the power of the 4Runner compare to the SS?

Oh...it's a bout half...

Just kidding.
But with over 400 hp (with a tune and a K&N) the Trailblazer SS was a beast. That was it's real strong point. It was a serious carnival ride.
Dead stock they run 0-60 in 5.7 secs and 1/4 mile in about 13.7 (2WD)

My 4Runner on the other hand is all about smoothness and refinement. The 4.7 provides nice torque down low and good midrange power. The five spd auto shifts perfectly and smoothly. The 4.7 doesn't seem to be happy with alot of rpm, it seems to like to stay under 4K but that's fine.

yeah, I'm happier by the day that I made the decision to move to the 4Runner.

I'm an old Chevy fan too, especially old Camaros.

I've always had GM and Fords , it actually was a hard decision to switch to a Toyota for me . Never had a foreign vehicle . I'm glad I made the switch. Although I usually get a new Vehicle every 3-4 years ( although I may run this longer ) . If the new 4R is not to my liking , I may go back to a domestic vehicle , prob. a Tahoe , but depends what my needs are at the time. If they make a 4R that looks tough , nice stance , good off road ability. I would buy another one in a heartbeat . Damn nice truck based SUV.

Congrats and welcome to T4R.org. A coworker has a Trailblazer SS. He's got a 2WD and it was about the same price as my 4R. I liked the Trailblazer since its debut. Chevy has some good looking SUVs.
