New 2 Forum & 2000 SR5

I just wanted to say hello and introduce my new (to me) 2000 SR5 4WD. I bought it last night and will be getting it ready for my son in college in Idaho. It has 173,600 miles. I paid $3,600.

Here are some pics. It's pretty clean inside and out except for one ding on passenger front fender that I will be taking a paintless dent repair shop and fixing the flare.

Here's my list of to-do's and would appreciate any input on what I need to do to make this as reliable as can be because my son will be over 1k miles away.

Oil and filter change
Transmission flush
Differential flush
Replace valve cover gaskets
Brake inspection and replace pads, rotors, lines as needed
Interstate Megatron Plus Battery (cold weather)
Flush coolant
Replace spark plugs
Replace air filter
Install KYB Gas-a-just shocks front & rear
Lubricate 4WD shaft

Timing belt is good for another 20k miles.

Welcome to the Family. I agree with PBR. The only other thing I would do at a glance is some tires at some point. Dose not need to be crazy off road type, but if he is going to travel back and forth it would be a good idea. Also since the timing belt is 20k out I would do it at the same time. You are already going to go have the valve covers off. At that point might as well. I think the kit off ebay is like 275-300 all OEM parts also. That can be done at home in about 2 hours.

Great looking truck. Enjoy it. It will give you many of good years to come.
