New 2000 4Runner Limited 4WD owner in San Diego

Hey Everyone,

Been lurking for a few weeks, but finally pulled the trigger and bought a 2000 T4R Limited 4WD yesterday. 100K miles, automatic. Fully-loaded except for the e-locker, but I couldn't pass up the condition and decent price.

Been a Tacoma owner, so I'm new but a return customer to Toyota and their off-road capabilities. Some pictures of my new ride are attached.

First things I'm planning to do:

1. Take off the front Manik bumper (done, now for sale)
2. Resolve the tranny thunking (lubed the driveshafts, still there; mount is next)
3. Turn the front rotors and replace the pads (warped and needs it)
4. Remove the side steps (on the fence right now, need to look at some pix on the forum)
5. Replace the rear door shocks (already knocked my head once)
7. Decide on my suspension and tire changes

The forum's already been a big help with my T4R search and items above. Thank you all for your involvement and I'm hoping to enjoy my time here for a long time to come.

No idea. Don't know what it is new or what the going rate is used. I just took it off, so it's ready to go. If you want it, we can work out a deal--no problem. PM me and we can chat.

Thats a nice 4runner, I loved those years too, especially since they had the option of supercharging it......I just bought my 4runner from San Diego and having it shipped back. Can't wait to see the end result of your new toy.

Wow...very nice and welcome! Please post where you get your stuff from. That's one of the biggest ways to help out around here...the search for parts that don't drain the wallet is one of the most time consuming parts of the process. Especially for those little things like the door shocks!

Thanks, an yes, I'll definitely share. I gotta assume that there are a lot of options out there for the door shocks.

Right now, I'm reading up in options to replace the radiator and those pesky HVAC lights.

Member getting the 4runner from San Diego: did you buy private party or from dealer? If it's still here, I might be able to check it out for you.

Hey Jsmithjr732, thanks for offering, but the vehicle was already inspected, I used to live in San Deezy, but moved back home to Hawaii. My mom still lives there, she did the inspect and test drive. Believe it or not, I found the 4runner at a Mercedes Dealership.
2008, black SE, V8 with only 11K miles. Got the runner out the door for 28K, shipping separate......Dealer had a hard time getting rid of it, because, no one goes there to buy a Yota. Mom told me if I didn't buy it she would, but she said it was practically new......
