New 4Runner fan

Hi everyone,

I am lately chasing a good 4Runner to purchase as I live in the mountains and do believe it is the most convenient car for me. It is not going to be a new one, probably a 1st or 2nd gen. one... Though I am spaniard and there are a couple forums in Spanish, I do prefer to dive here as there are way more of such cars in the USA, thus more experienced drivers and of course mechanics ;-)

three possibles

there an 88 4Runner, good general condition and 270k miles for 2000usd, a second one a 2nd generation 2.5 V6 with 100.000 miles for 3500usd (and the third a 91 2.4 diesel (2-LT engine)with 80.000 miles for 4200usd (although in this country we cannot trust mileage, people too often manipulate the odometers it´s a shame I know...), all seem in good general conditions inside and outside... which one would you go for ? I live in the mountains, in winter often heavy rains, ice, some snow, and I would use it daily for short trips.

Any preference ? thanks...
