New 4Runner Owner Here Former Tacoma Owner

so i had a 09 tacoma up until last week when it got totaled
now i just picked up a 2003 4Runner limited with 81k on odo
have many question but here is a start...
......will my king coils from my 09 tacoma work on the 4 runner?
what other parts if any are interchangeable ?
i need skids, sliders, bumpers in near future...
but for now...cv's,
timing belt and water pump i think
how hard is the timing belt to change
does the water pump need to be replaced at 90k also?
what else should be done?
i am planning on doing the vvvv
rear diff breather mod?
im looking to go 33's and lift it?
i also have a slight belt chirp i will have to look into.....
let the fun begin.....
any tips or advise is welcome......

WELCOME TO T4R.ORG :wave:

your kings will fit, the front ends are identical. UCA's etc. will fit too. Get some 33s'. Use the kings for front lift. You will need 3" to clear 33's.

Get a rear coil spring lift. OME is popular for added rear weight. Check out the link in my sig for 4th gen suspension stuff. 33's may rub a little on the frame and you *might* have to do a body mount chop.

The T belt is hard. I'm doing mine in the spring, hopefully with a guy from TW in PA. There are a few write ups.

i carry allot of junk in the truck...
planing on rear with swing out 2 (5) cans..my cbi can holder, hi lift...and a big ass cooler inside......
so i dont know if there is something better suited for my needs

Yeah any time man. All that stuff will work. You're not talking lift spindles are you? Are yours gusseted or something?

Wheel bearings are the same, CVs i'm not sure but I would imagine they are. I'm not sure about the front diffs which would be the determining factor, but I would imagine they are.

Just be warned, the CBI dual swing out rear bumper is almost 2500 when all is said and done. Definitely go OME 895e's in the back and 886 in the front for all the added weight. The 895e's are like 45% stiffer than stock rate IIRC which (stock is around 180) - I guess you're new to the whole coil sprung 4 linked rear thing. Way better than leafs.

T belt is around 1k usually. Seen it as cheap as 650 and as much as 1400.

nope reg spindles.....
never know when you need one....might gusset these and when i get ready to do the cv's install them....
i will just your my kings 700lb spring ext travel on the front if they will fit....

Sorry should have clarified. Keep the kings for the front, I would go OME springs in back paired with their shocks. IF you have extra cash to blow, fox makes nice remote resi shocks, icon and radflo are also good to look at. Not totally sure how some of these bigger name kits go with rear weight. I know OME springs are the stiffest available, but I am not sure what shock is best to pair them with for comfort. I can't imagine a fox or icon wouldn't do the trick. Bilstein 5160's are a cheaper remote resi, not sure how aggressive their dampening is though.
