new 4runner owner

Hello Everyone!

I just purchased my first truck ever, a 2003 4runner limited v8 in gold, I am going to be picking it up next week, I dont have any good pics of it yet so I am attaching the ones from the classified ad

it has 271 km and I got it for $6800 CAD, what do you guys think? Good value?

Any helpful tips are very much appreciated, I am particularly interested if there are any prudent maintenance items that I should take care of right away to avoid problems down the road.

Also this may sounds silly but, does the steering on your 4runner get really stiff when you are driving at high speeds, the guy selling the car told me that this was completely normal and has been like that since new. Having only driven small cars( my previous car was a honda accord) this seemed a litle odd to me so I just wanted to get your guys' 2 cents on this, is this normally expected in trucks to prevent you from turning too suddenly and flipping at high speeds or is this a red flag for steering problems

Thanks fourwd1, I tried doing a search but that mostly yielded threads on steering problems which sound far worse than the stiff steering that I experienced on the highway. So I am pretty sure that it's not an issue but I just wanted to confirm with other 4runner owners to make sure
