New 4Runner

Hi,
I am new to this forum. I just bought my first Toyota 4Runner SR5 2012 BLACK -
Got it with Premium Package and running boards on May 21st.
This is my first new car and my first Toyota. I am embarrassed to list the cars I had before. I looked at the new Highlander and FJ Cruiser - no comparison - as soon as I drove 4Runner I knew this was the car for me. I almost went with the Salsa Red (didn't like pearl white or silver) but at the last second saw the black in the show room and switched. I figured in 5-10 years salsa red would not look as good as black.
I did not test drive the Limited and the dealer had it for about $3800 more than my package. That's my only regret other than that I can't wait to get into 4R each morning and drive.
I think the only drawback is the stock soundsystem with my nav package. Very bass heavy and somewhat bland. Party Mode button is a joke - everything sounds out of phase with it engaged.
Thanks

Hi,
I am in Chicago area - I'm sure prices differ in each area.
I basically spent 2-3 weeks and went through all the Toyota dealerships in Chicago. When I went to Bredemann Toyota they had four different SR5 models (silver, black, salsa red and met gray) and at six LE black ones, no TEs. All the other dealers in the area only had one or maybe two 4Runners in stock - mostly SR5s.
My sticker price with Premium Package, Cargo Cross Bars, Carpet Floor and Cargo mats, running boards and $810 delivery processing and handling fee was $39,424.00
Out the door before taxes $34,368.00 After all the taxes $37,684.72.
I checked with a bunch of area dealers and none could come close to the price. I did finance through TFS
I did not go for any extended warranty with Fidelity or any optional paint protection crap.
Hope this helps.
Thanks

Be careful hanging out here at T4R.ORG it'll probably cost you some money. Trust me I know as it's cost me about $6000 so far and I just ordered a rack and ladder....ARRRRRG I CAN'T STOP :zoom:

Good point! I am blown away by the amount of feedback on this forum and how informative and nice most of the posters are...
As I mentioned earlier the only thing I had regret was not trying the LE. I got over it after about a month or so ago though. SR5 nose dive did not bother me until I read about it on this forum hahaha...
Other than that I feel in love with 4Runner at the first drive. I had no plans to buy one until I sat and drove one - I don't think there is another Toyota like it, and I did try Honda equivalents which did not even come close. It's an amazing truck - I don't think there is anything like it in drive feel and looks. I am completely addicted to it and can't wait to get in it all day every day. I don't mind the traffic or the long drives anymore. I never thought I'd say this as I was not much of the car person before this but its a life changing experience.
I will be changing the sound system eventually - gotta pay down some of the principal on the car first.

Thanks for the warm welcome!
