Really cool bumper. But how will light weight aluminum hold up to being pulled on during recoveries, banging into stuff etc...

above the "hefty" lettering there is a logo. if they turned that into slats or another hole then that would be enough airflow for the rad. this thing is hot tho

Probably as good as all the other aluminum bumpers out there for jeeps and FJs. Never heard of a single problem with recovery.

I have aluminum skids and have banged the crap out of them on things with pretty much no issue besides a surface blemish. If you are super hard core steel is probably the way to go. but 99.9% of 5th gens would be better served with aluminum. The only real downside is that it is more complex to work with. It will also probably be better for everyone in an onroad impact situation. The stock bumper is aluminum BTW.

I saw someone question the air flow with the front bumper, it doesn't look like there is much space to let air get to the radiator.

there is more through space than with the OEM bumper by surface area.

there is more opening for air (square inch of opening) than with the OEM bumper. it looses 2/3 of its lower grill, but then 4 large holes and a couple smaller ones are put in the new bumper.
