New Aluminum front and rear bumpers

Saweeet! I've been contemplating making my own Aluminum bumper, but this seals the deal. I've been wanting to avoid the weight of a full on steel bumper and these have been reviewed as being pretty damn stout.

Right.

ShrockWorks, ARB, etc. decimates the vehicle ahead or behind but more or less protects the T4R, no? This thing looks bad ass, no doubt, but how much protection will it offer when things go bump?
 
Just a guess, but I would assume it would deform after a decent hit and probably need to be replaced depending on the severity of the hit.
I'm sure it wont stand up like a steel bumper.
Again, it's just a guess, as I really have no idea.

I still haven't seen anyone on the forums running this bumper since I came here. Not sure how much of a response you'll get. They are still available on the website though.

Jason Demello is also working on an aluminum version of his front bumper.

Yeah I've not seen anyone either, even via search. It's exciting that Demello is working on an AL front. A rear would be nice too! I really like the Demello front bumper design.
 
I just had an email exchange with Aluminess. They have stopped production of the rear bumper for the 4th generation 4Runner.
 
I don't know anything about the fronts.
The rear they made 5, lack of interest killed it at the time, I got the last one, was collecting dust and in the way from the sounds of it...received and installed in 1 week...gotta love that.
I cant complain was 60lbs...a 285tire+rim weighs more!
Needs a recovery point.

Any other Front AL options now?

I've been out of the 4R game for awhile but still have mine. Needs a new front factory bumper cover, so I figure might as well get a steel or preferably AL front! The back I may just go with a steel bumper. Anything new now, or are the manufacturers doing only steel for the front? Seems Aluminess doesn't do the 4R anymore! Boo :( Any recommendations would be welcome!
