Don't put the light bar below front bumper. That looks like an ARB bumper.

What I do not love is light bars.
Lighting, in order of importance to me-
1) HID Projector Retrofit
2) Quality LED driving beam pods
3) Amber LED running/fog pods- also driving beam
I hate lights in my eyes, and I hate shining my lights in other's eyes.
A good Retrofit will be much more satisfying than a light bar. The Morimoto D2S 4.0 have an insane low AND high beam output.
Octanejunkie is already running projectors. I think he’s just looking for foreground fill light. Hopefully while in remote areas since most light bars have no horizontal cutoff and can’t be run with oncoming traffic present.

Like the thread title says, I lost my factory fogs with the new ARB bumper install and I'll looking to add fog lights back. I want to put them relatively low, where fog lights typically go.
I'm not one of those driver's you see that drive with their fogs on full time, I actually only use then when necessary (rain, fog, etc) my projectors actually do a fine job for regular driving.
ARB has a fog-pod kit for $124-$150 online (3163015 Fog/Indicator Light Assembly) but that puts the lights too high for my liking and I'd rather not cut huge holes in a brand new bumper yet.
I understand that any light I put below the bumper is at risk of being torn off while wheeling. I will address that separately. For now my concern is getting fog lights back on my truck because I actually do encounter driving conditions that warrant having and using them, and that weather is coming soon; and not at the mall.

Why go with Rigid D2 style fog lights and mount them where I have mine mounted, on the top plate of the bumper. Btw are you considering amber?

I am considering amber and I prefer the fogs to be mounted lower rather than higher to possibly reflect back at me while driving in heavy fog - we get that, as you know.
ARB supplied a bar for mounting "driving lights" that bolts together with the bottom splash guard that puts lights below the bumper and inline with the frame rails.

Amber cuts through fog, white does not. Putting them on top of the bumper will not reflect back at you. (unless you use white)
I haven't met a blizzard yet that can match 4 PIAA's. 2 - 6" & 2 - 4".
Lightbars are too modern looking for our trucks & PIAA's dont blind on coming drivers so you can actually use them when driving on the roads. LOL
Just make sure you get a driving beam & not a flood.

I really like the PIAA 22-05372 LP530 Yellow 3.5" LED Ion Driving Light Kit, but they is pricy. I do like the smaller 3.5" size
Replica (glass fused to plastic) classic-style 500 Series Hella rounds for $41 are bit large for my liking
Found this 4" 3000K cheapo LED round on Amazon for $25 each
There there are these throw away 6000K pair for $20 I could mount low and whatever happens happens...

Unless you're really at risk of your lights getting stolen, it's really not worth buying cheap lights.
You're buying these to be effective at cutting through fog, so it's important that they are actually designed and work well.
I do like those PIAA 4". I'd like to see a side by side comparison of their halogen 4" yellow. Like I said earlier, I have yet to see an LED that can really hang with a halogen or HID projector when it comes to throwing light.

The PIAA 520s crystal ION which I have and last FOREVER (I've had mine about 10 years now) can be bought used very cheap. Then if you want it is pretty easy to supercharge them with HID bulb 35W retrofit. This would be the most superior solution of course!
Living in your area I'd be most concerned about smoke vs fog. Those fires look crazy.

I'm looking for quality stuff, because as said before, buy once cry once.
I share Mike's concern about the fact that mounting the lights on top of the bumper (under central hoop) might not be super effective when it comes to fog. So this post is very interesting.
I'm looking at the PIAA 520 Ion Yellow Fog Halogen Lamp Kit, your input is welcome

I almost ordered an open box 520 Ion kit last night but $$
I believe (and this is subjective to your local LEO) if you follow SAE "best practice" and the gear you install is DOT approved, you can probably argue your way out of a ticket, but why tempt fate?
I really want to install something low, hence cheap at this point, because if it's not behind a valance it's gonna get pelted with road debris - which goes against my standard mantra of cheap people pay twice and sometimes three times (a snarky version of buy once cry once)
I originally wanted to cut them into the bumper, ala something like this, but they wouldn't be low enough to be true fog lights and maybe risk a road stop.
At this point, with two winter trips coming up before New Years, and snow/fog and maybe more smoke on the horizon (nod to [MENTION=65101]BrianSD_42[/MENTION]) I might just throw on those el cheapo HF ones [MENTION=129892]AntleredRuin[/MENTION] linked earlier. WTF I'm also not in a hurry to throw $200+ at lights just now (I shot my wad on bumper and shocks)

You think the yellow fog, in their halogen version, would potentially get you a ticket?
I feel you, it makes sense to go cheap of you mount them underneath as you will destroy them off road. That's why I don't want them under, I don't want to hace to redo the whole thing every time it's damaged. PITA and money wasted.
Do you have a good website price wise for the PIAA lights btw?
It's a tough call, as I'm worried mounting them on the bumper will not allow them to act as fogs. But people who know better than I do (which is easy!) do it with success.
