A lot of car dealers are buying Broncos used over MSRP, and then putting them on their lots WAY over MSRP. I've seen Ford dealers offer people picking up their Bronco order $10k over MSRP to buy it back just so they can put it on the lot for $30k over.
Also car repos have been skyrocketing the last couple months. The recession and inflation are going to start to take a real toll on consumer spending. The only thing keeping prices on cars high is supply is non-existent. Especially now that companies are starting to change over to 23's. Companies are going to start hiring freezes and workforce reductions (some already are) I suspect the rest of 2022 won't be fun for a lot of people from an economic standpoint. I would not want to own a car dealership right now with no supply and consumer spending crashing. I suppose they can always start offering 120 month car loans. Some places already offer 96 month loans.

I feel for the people that are getting repoed who are legitimately in a bad spot, but for all of those people who were dumb and decided to live above their means while spending too much to justify poor business practices (MARKUPS) I'll be lapping up their tears. I've been preparing for this moment. Even if I lose my job, I'm going to be fine for a good while. I'm even going to buy the big stuff at actually reasonable prices. Bring it on, recession. Survival of the smartest and the leanest, biznatches. I came of age in the last one. I'm going to destroy the next one.

Given that there was/is a rash of 3.5 engines imploding, i bet a lot of those have no engine under the hood!
3.5 is not offered in the Bronco...

It still seems rather special to me. Not that I'm going to trade in my 4Runner for one, but I'd almost certainly be driving one now if they launched it a few years before I got my 4Runner.
We would trash one of those out in a year. Look nice but they are a ford so there is that. It would have sand inside after the first weekend and for the life of the vehicle. For us, it makes zero sense to spend that kind of money the way we use our T4Rs. All those fancy touch screens and crap dont work with fishy hands either lol.

Ford Bronco Engine-Failure Reports Spur Federal Safety Investigation - WSJ
The top U.S. auto-safety regulator is opening an investigation into reported catastrophic engine failures with some Ford Bronco vehicles, yet another setback in the auto maker’s efforts to improve its quality record.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said in a filing made public this week it was launching the probe, after receiving reports of 2021 Ford Bronco SUVs experiencing a loss of power at highway speeds. The examination covers nearly 25,500 vehicles, NHTSA said.
A Ford spokesman said the auto maker is aware of a select number of engines early in the launch of the Bronco that exhibited the alleged defect and it is investigating the issue. If any customers are experiencing issues, they’ll be covered under the vehicle’s powertrain warranty, the spokesman said.
No injuries or crashes have been linked to the alleged problem to date, according to NHTSA’s filing.
“We continue to be hampered by recalls and customer satisfaction actions,” Ford Chief Executive Jim Farley said in an April earnings call. “This has to change.”
Reports of engine problems in the Bronco date to this spring, when multiple owners filed petitions with NHTSA asking the agency to open a formal investigation into the alleged problem. The petitioners alleged that 2021 Broncos were experiencing a loss of motor power at highway speeds.
“Some have barely avoided major injury when their vehicles have had complete power loss at freeway speeds in traffic,” one owner wrote in a petition.
Ford identified the root cause of the alleged defect as interference between the valve and piston within the 2.7-liter EcoBoost engines, which can result in the engine locking up, NHTSA said. The regulator has identified 26 reports that related to the alleged defect in the Bronco.
NHTSA said it opened the formal investigation to assess the scope, frequency, and potential safety-related consequences of the alleged defect.

New-vehicle teething issues experienced by the Bronco is pretty unusual in how many and how serious. Maybe the 1st gen ones are being dumped/traded by owners. I do see more and more around now. A buddy of mine was thinking of buying one but the issues freaked him out. Looks like he is going to hold for other options.
I don't know for sure though they have identified a root cause, but when they use an engine in a new vehicle, they often have to use new parts. The Wrangler had an oil cooler issue that was causing engine failure and other issues due to leaking oil. That was a new oil cooler they had to redesign after that.
