New CBI Rear Bumper

Well, back in the beginning of June I decided to order a loaded rear bumper for my 08 4runner. I had my CBI rear bumper installed last weekend at CBI in Idaho Falls. Steve and his assistant (I'm really bad with names) did a great job installing the bumper, my OME 896 springs, and wiring it up. Total install time was about 3 hours.

Steve wanted to make sure everything was perfect before I left back to Vegas that day. I am missing the fuel can holder due to a manufacturing defect. Steve told me he would have one ready about a week from now. I also wanted to add that Steve really goes the extra mile for his customers. I did not have an extension for the trailer hitch wiring, so Steve went out and purchased one for me during the install. I also accidentally left my wheel lock key at the shop and Steve brought it to me at the hotel I was staying at. I can't recommend CBI enough.

I am very pleased with the bumper. No groans or creaking, the powder coat is great and matches the ARB front bumper. All in all it is worth every penny.
I took a bunch of pictures when it was being installed and wanted to share them.

Thats a nice looking bumper! How much did that set you back, if you don't mind me asking?

The loaded bumper with the swing arm is just under $2000. Finishing (powdercoat) and shipping are extra. You will have to contact Steve for an exact price to your specifications.

One thing you ll need to do is cut your tail pipe back just and Inch or so to clear the bumper on extreme angles it will get smooshed !! if you dont here is what mine looked like b4 I f finally cut it back ! other than that Great bumper no issues after almost 3yrs.I four wheel as hard as the 4 runner will go and the only thing I had was dropping off a ledge the bumper can hit the bottom of the tail lights / for me No biggie as my runner is a tool not a mall ride I just put a small bead of silicone in a few spots and the tail lights are fine . :guitar3::thumb3:

Another question I have is, do you have to remove the spare tire from under the vehicle? What is the tow rating of that bumber? Well more like two questions. Great looking ride!

One of the resting pads for the spare tire on the rear cross member had to be cut off. I know a tire will still go in there, but I'm not sure if it will be a perfect fit anymore. There is no tow rating for the bumper since they are custom. I have no doubt that it can safely tow anything the 4runner can tow.

As for the tail pipe. I am going to take the resonator off and make it a side exit high and tight.

Nice rig, the CBI bumper looks awesome, can't wait to get OME lift, shrockworks and cbi bumper installed on my '03 limited.

Awesome bumper! Really considering getting it myself for my '05 Sport. Quick question, is your license plate illuminated at all? Here in Cali, we have to have it lit up.

Yes it is. Cbi makes a plate cover that is lit.
