Does anyone have a link to where I can buy the taco intake tube? I have the one shown in the picture below and I was about to mod it and add some pvc to make it all fit but I sure would love to get rid of it since the hole is so small compared to the rest of the setup. I've asked some autopart stores but they weren't able to help me. Also does it replace just the end part or the whole air intake up to the filter box?

I found this on Tacoma World a few weeks ago and haven't seen anyone on here post about it yet. It’s a knockoff of the ARB Safari snorkel and the price is right! I picked this up in December for only $98. I believe they’re increasing the price a bit more now, but the quality and fitment are what I’d expect from the $400 original. IMO it looks so much better than the Hilux 167 snorkel most people are running too.

Install went fairly well. It’s pretty self-explanatory and the template is usable. I had an extra fender that I tested the snorkel on and it worked, but I couldn’t determine a-pillar fitment without mounting it to the truck (which I didn’t do).



The a-pillar mount is aluminum or stainless so you don’t have to paint it if you don’t want.



The plastic is high quality and the thickness is really consistent. From the other thread on TW, it seems like others are finding the same:



I used the template to determine the location of the 3.5” hole, but didn’t drill the mounting holes yet:



The snorkel contacts a metal lip inside the fender. I forgot to take a picture before persuading the metal out of the way, but it’s right below the square cutout. I just used a mallet and it worked perfectly:



I’m happy I didn’t drill the mounting holes from the template because when I lined it up with the a-pillar, it wasn’t perfect. By using a carbide bit on a Dremel, I elongated the hole lower and further back. This aligned the body line and pillar mount better:



Here’s a shot of the elongated hole. As you can see, it’s mounted further back than the template shows:



From there, I loosely mounted the stock intake tube to the included coupling. I found it easier to unbolt the intake tube from the truck and mount the assembly (snorkel, fender, intake tube) to the truck. I bolted the snorkel down at this point:



Then it was as easy as remounting the fender, aligning the intake tube to the elbow, and drilling/riveting the mount to the a-pillar:



I’ll take some better photos later, but here’s some of the finished product:











I didn't put the dumb sticker on. I'm planning to 3D printing something cooler later:

Well... I have been kicking the idea of putting one on these on for a while. Going to try this: ONE

Used a discount code and free shipping. Came out to 105.00. We will see if it actually comes in and is usable.

I do need to track down the extension tube for the intake I am sure. I will wait until it actually shows up before I do anything else.

That looks like the one I used and it didn’t need any extra attachment. The stock intake met with the rubber tube inside the fender. I bought mine off eBay.

I think it depends what year/model 4runner you have.. some have the longer tube and some have the shorter one. I got the same kit and needed to get the tube.

New user here, I had this snorkel kit saved on eBay for a couple weeks and the seller sent me an offer for $169.99. So I did a google search and found this thread, I had only seen the snorkels that run along the fender. Anyways it also includes a Trd badge and he sells the badge separately for $29. Thought you guys might be interested.

Anyhow been lurking and doing research on here for a few weeks. Thanks for the guidance lol. So far I’ve done my timing belt and everything that goes into that including a new radiator and trans cooler. Repaired my starter with new contacts. Got tundra coils and ome 906s with 5100 bilsteins waiting to go on. Going to do my ball joints at the same time,upper and lower.
