New CV Axles boots leaking

Hello all,

About 5000 miles or so I rebooted my driver side CV axle with the Toyota 5th gen reboot kit. Recently those boots have started to leak on the axle sides. I assume there’s still plenty of grease in them since I put them on recently. What do you recommend? Redo the job? Just tighten the clamps? Clean the grease and see if it keeps leaking?

The kit come with the proper amount of grease to pack in the boots. Maybe overfilled and squeezing out making sharp turns.. yeah try tightening the clamps if you can without damaging the boot. Hopefully it's not overfilled It could tear the boot.

I am lifted too. Maybe that plus some full-lock turns cause some leaking?

Yes, that's definitely a possibility. That lift would increase the axle angle unless you have a different drop. If not get one it's just a couple sleeves and bolts and will relieve the extra stress on them. Has the possible excess grease stopped squeezing out yet? You say leaking, I'm imagining squeeze out from over packing. If it's done squeezing out tighten the clamps up good. You should be good to go. Nothing is torn so you should be fine

I’ll wipe off what’s squeezed out and see
