New Demello bumper in the works?!

It's taken them forever...when I asked in January they didn't mention they would make one and actually commented it probably wouldn't be done. I always thought it was a natural choice for them to make one given what they've done with other models. Also, aluminum would be incredible.

Probably want to tell Jason that this is for 2010-13 only...lol...unless they change the part under the lights.

Also wonder who is providing their truck to get this done? Point them to the front bumper build from South America

Their FB page says that the 2014 filler plate below the headlight will be different and they also stated that they will remove the extra hole in the bumper for the 2014s. One difference I see between DO and Shrockworks would be the better coverage and protection that Shrockworks has. I am sure that DO will not leave that exposed.

They don't do anything for the reservoir on the FJ's so I wouldn't hold my breath. I think I'll stick with SW

I think pricing is also going to be key. I know shrockworks makes great stuff, but the turnaround sucks and they are pretty proud by the time you go in with add-ons. I mean seriously... two-three month turnaround is just pathetic. You would think there would be enough market to at least have the standard version fabbed and ready to roll.

If it wasn't for the wait I would have already driven down to Houston and purchased one. Right now, I am just looking forward to seeing what other companies including ARB come up with for the 2014's.

Anyway, Gobi was the same way. Fortunately they at least offered expedited service.

I am a big fan of the quality Shrockworks produces. This is my 3rd bumper from them. I would say that you would be very happy and it is worth the wait. I equate it to fast food vs fine dining. No one goes to Fearings Restaurant at The Ritz Carlton in Dallas and expects their food to be ready in 5 minutes. Quality takes time and should not be rushed.

He posted on Facebook there going to do a relocation kit for the reservoir. Be interested to see what Jason comes up with.

Yes it will, maybe you are thinking dual battery? SW tank relocate goes in the back behind the air box (close to firewall), not in the front of the air box where the AIP resides. Believe me of not, IDGAF....

To answer a few questions.

Yes this will be the 2010-2014 bumper The only difference we see as of now for the 2014 will be the headlight pieces.

We will most likely do an aluminum, the price will be roughly 300-400 more than the steel version. The big cost increase is the aluminum but also the 1in shakles that will replace the 1/2in shackles now. We feel that bumping up most of the material sizes is key for strength in the aluminum.

Price wise on this bumper, it will be in line with what else is out there. Maybe a little more maybe a little less on a GB.

Lead time, we know we are no better than anyone else on lead times right now but we are working on it. We currently actually have 2006-2009 bumpers in stock 10 of them. So it is an issue we are addressing.

extra water bottle protection, we are firm believers that putting a thin skid plate over a water bottle gives false sense of security and any hit to that area would just crush the skid and most likely destroy the water bottle. We also like to keep ground clearance as high as possible. Two things that don't go hand and hand.

This 4runner belongs to the owner of baja racks and he was kind enough to let us use it. There are some pictures floating around of this bumper all powder coated and his team added some washer bottle coverings but they will be removed.
