New Digital A/C Cluster on 2016's, have you seen them?

Is this cluster new for the 2016 Limited or is it the same as the 2015 limited?

Does anyone know anything about the refreshed A/C Cluster on the 2016's? On the website this is the image that is displayed across all trim levels. Just want to know if anyone has actually seen these digital looking gauges on any FR?

I just checked the Toyota website myself and all of the pics with the digital controls that i could find were labeled as Limiteds. The rest of the trim levels all had analog controls.

I tried building every single Trim level EXCEPT for limited because i have no interest in it, and that is the picture it showed me every single time.

The photo the OP posted is a little confusing as it does show the TRD Pro interior (black trim and then the shift knob) with the limited AC cluster, unless something was changed for 2016 this is not a possible combo.

Anyways onto the more interesting stuff.

Someone on here already tried a direct swap of JUST the auto climate control cluster and IIRC it will plug in however it does not control so you would loose AC/Heat but you would have your digital readout. I did a decent amount of digging in the FMS and parts diagrams and I think it can be done but the cost is prohibitive unless you really want it or you can find a salvaged/junkyard 5th gen. Parts I think you need. I got a dealer quote for the servos and control unit and i think it was around $1700-1800

* 3 blend servos for the aC "climate box" under the dash

if anyone has a limited in the Twin Cities area and would be willing to dig into the dash with me (or let me) I would LOVE to see if this is indeed a direct swap. I really miss the auto climate control (hell my wife's 02 Lexus has it). I even contemplating finding a rental place that had a limited and doing a temporary swap to see if it functions as expected but couldn't find a limited (all SR5's).

I see it now. It only shows that picture when you go into the build section of the website. All of the other pictures on the website are correct.

Of course they have themselves covered with the "Availability subject to change" disclaimer on the pic.

I'd be totally fine with the dual zone not actually functioning. Still being a single zone, just having the prettier look than the ugly knob the single zones all come with. Perhaps in time i'll convert it to an actual dual zone set up, but in the short term i just want it to look a little cooler.

What's wrong with big dual knobs? :shrug:

Very confusing image. Not a limited, the seat cooler/heater switches are not present and no fake wood. No 4WD lever, so not a trail. It has the TRD Transmission Shift knob though.

You guys are kidding right? the TRD has a dial-o-4wd instead of a linked lever? I had assumed that is would be manual. Interesting.

You would also need the solar sensor up in the dashboard (same one for the auto headlights) and some wiring to connect it to the ECU since it's not present in the non-Limited trims. Then there's the room temperature sensor and the vacuum pipe that goes with it which draws air by the sensor in order to get an accurate reading. The harness for that one is in place on my 2010 Trail at least.

I also think you might only need one new servo. The passenger side servo has the same part number for auto and manual climate control, whereas the driver's side has two different numbers and looks different in the diagrams (second servo motor on the part for the auto). Check out the wiring diagram (attached) where it shows the servo motors.

Agreed, it's not a Pro interior. The Pro has a 4wd lever not a dial, and it does not have the digital AC controls.

It appears to be a photoshop. I can tell by the pixels.

Thousands. Since it is a dual zone system, it has a bunch of HVAC components behind the dash - second blend door, etc. It would likely require removing the dash to do the install.

Looks very similar to Lexus GX460's, maybe they pulled that one over?
