New Duratrac's installed for <$350? Yes, please!

So I got an email from Discount, like thousands of others did today, announcing a $100 off sale. It got me in the mood to buy some tires because I already had a credit because they scratched up our FJ's wheels.

265/70/17s

Duratrac's installed ~$950
Scratched wheels discount -$480
Tire trade in discount -$80 (2 rear tires were still fairly new)
Goodyear/Discount rebate -$100
Car Care One Card rebate -$50

Total=$320:eyebrows:

Lucky bastard ! I keep searching for a deal on those tires Looked yesterday and it came out 1.6k instaled 12 equal monthly payments. Fml going to keep searching but a super grats to you man I think thats the killer deal of 2013.

i went with the c rated. i will never tow enough to need anything close to an e rating.

we have also wheeled c rated tires through moab and durango without ever having any issues.

i don't understand the reasoning behind people putting e rated tires on something like a 4R or Tacoma.

Being Canadian has its advantages, but geting good deals on tires is not one of them...

Because the rating isn't just for the tow rating these days but the strength of the sidewalls too, especially in a offroad tire, unless you think they make 42" mud tires for towing.

My E rated took the abuse fine where the guy in front of me cut a sidewall on C rated BFG KO's on the same ledge. Better to have and not need then need and not have the extra sidewall protection in my book.

I have never had an issue with a sidewall being cut before. Maybe I will have to experience changing a tire on a trail, or be stranded out in BFE before I'm an E load range convert for life.:snacker:
