New Endlinks from MStudt

FYI, Mstudt's new forged ball end links are available:

I am debating between buying these, buying stock fronts plus 2nd gen rears, or going nuts and building a custom sliding disco for the fronts. My front endlinks are done, so I've got to do something. Just can't decide what.

The heim joint from the previous version gave me (and many others) loads of problems so I'm glad to see they were ditched, but the price definitely needs to come down still - especially for what they are.

I made a set years ago from a diy thread somewhere on the forum. Budget friendly and no issues. I'll post a photo tomorrow.

I have the same setup for the rear, love it. Hoping to grab a set of discos for the front in the next week or so

whooole lot of clunking+popping over even the smallest bumps in the road, heim joint got nearly frozen after like a month, rust (zinc coating started wearing off quickly), the cherry on top was shearing off a bolt from the heim joint after driving down a basic logging trail

Rear sway bars are totally useless with stiffer rear springs. I'm not even sure why people leave them installed. Just installing the heavier rear lift spring makes the truck sway less by a huge amount. These end links seem like inventions looking for a problem that doesn't exist.

Interesting. I didn't know people had so much trouble with the heim bolts.

The hard part is I haven't found many other options, and those I have found were expensive enough the cost was a wash. Agree on the cost feeling high... But custom hardware is never cheap.

Huh, those are budget friendly, though not adjustable. I'm tempted to go adjustable in case I go long travel at some point in the future... Though that is a ways away if ever.

You getting Mstudts disconnects? Or fabbing your own? I've considered making my own but the parts are about 150 on Mcmaster Carr...

It's not the metal sliding. It's the clunking when the suspension reaches the end of the disconnects range of motion and stops the suspension travel. I am always afraid of it breaking when I wheel.

Huh, thats not encouraging. Do you feel like it buys you much of anything? Or is it minimal improvement sort of situation?

I'm actually thinking of building my own at the moment... The FJ people seem to like them a lot.

They work great to free up the suspension travel. Makes a notable difference when offroad. I might try swaybar relocation brackets to line up the links better.

Yes, I'm on OME 886's with a bumper and winch.

I would say the lack of relocate blocks is contributing to the noise you hear. How long have you been running the links?

Probably just the rasping a bit. The clunking won't go away. The clunking is the end links reaching the end of their range of motion while the A-arm still wants to drop out or raise up further in relation to the other A-arm. I want to relocate the blocks to not put so much angular stress on the heim at full compression because it starts to bind up at the heim. I just don't want it to break on the trail and take something important out. I've run them for a year.
