Bent my skid plate last run and it's rubbing against my steering system when I turn the wheels left or right. Gonna take a sawzall to my skids to trim what's rubbing! Should be fun!

Just wondering if you were getting weld on or bolt on sliders, and do they have the lockout in the rear? As far as running boards for sliders thats an instant failure. Put the full weight of your rig on a rock with only the running board holding it up, not a good idea. Before I got my sliders fr 4xinnovations my wife removed one with the help of a very high curb.

Hey Jake budbuilt makes a great product. I have a full set of his skid plates and they are holding up great. And I actually use them. Are you getting the filler plates or leaving them open? I do have to agree with Alex powder coating is a waste of money. Unless you are getting them for looks and don't plan on using them all that powder coating is going o scratch off very fast. The force of a few thousand pounds sliding over a rock scratches powder coating right off. Seen it happen. Spary paint touches up so much faster even bed liner touches up better than powder coating. Regardless you will love Bud's product they are top notch

On a side note.. Anyone know of a rust freeish fuel tank and sending unit for a 3.0 v6? Either a 4runner tank or a pickup tank will work, my mounts are adjustable.[/QUOTE]

I'm getting weld on with steps. Not sure about a bump out in the rear though.
And actually my running boards have held up since June with some HEAVY hits on rocks. Now they're all crunched and bent up but they serve their purpose! The mounts are getting a little weak though. It's about time to drop them off my truck.

I went with the partial tread plating, they just do the bump out section and leave the rest open. Powdwercoat was only $90 for the pair and it saves me a ton of work, And I'm pretty sure that the force of a few thousand pounds is going to remove anything that is put on them. eh
Heck even the weight of Alex's ego swelled head would take some paint off :bash: :lmao:

You don't need LCAs to lift however my cam bolts are frozen. If I torch them to get them loose I will most likely destroy the bushings. I am thinking they will just need to be replaced I saw them online for anywhere from $157-$300 each. I like the clean look of the rocky road sliders, especially the 45 degree on approach. I don't like the ones that stick out and reduce clearance by a few inches. Defeats the purpose of lifting IMO. I won't use them as a step, im 6'1" but the wife might be unhappy with jumping up but it's not her rig!!!!

I was gonna buy the rocky road super sliders, but I got a quote for cheaper and I'm kinda regretting taking that offer. Still waiting for my f&cking sliders. I think I may take a drive out to Iowa to pay this f&cker a visit. :ak472:

So I swapped my oil pan and skids yesterday
Alex, these are what you would have dealt with if you took my old ones, I doubt they are any better than yours:
The nice buckle in my oil pan:
A few of the skid plate bolts snapped off and needed to be drilled and retapped :rant:

Yeah, it's tucked up above the skid, but I had no idea the factory ones were so flimsy. I have a regular plug in there now.

The rear one is bent in half in my trash can, the front one is still ok, but is also in my trash lol. I figured you were all set when you posted up your little sawzall job. If you want it, I can fish the front one out. Trash day is Friday and I'm leaving for a camping trip thursday afternoon, so just let me know before then.
