New EPA Calculations for Fuel Economy

The EPA has a new way of calculating the fuel economy on new cars. Manufacturers will be required to comply with the new process beginning with Model Year 2008 vehicles.

The idea is to make the EPA calculation more realistic, which means the estimates will drop for most vehicles from MY 2007 to MY 2008.

Thanks, toto...cool info. Hopefully, the numbers won't drop too much...my box-on-wheels (aka G-wagen) actually is right on the dot with the EPA estimates (12 mpg city/14 hwy)...i am not sure if that's a good thing or not.

My 06 4x4 V8 , gets exactly what my sticker said and even more if conditions are premium driving, but with me behind the wheel that rarely happens....lol
