New exhaust took out my ABS...

Yeah it sounds crazy, but I just had my entire exhaust system redone. When I got my truck back, every time I hit a bump no matter how small, there was a loud bang, and I had no upward travel of my rear axel. Upon investigating it was because the guy decided to run the piping right over the upper control arm like this:

Immediately after, my ABS light came on (that's the ABS line between the piping and mount in the picture). I brought the truck back and had them fix it. Now no more clanking over bumps but still no ABS. I got under the truck the same day I got it back and looked at the ABS line and realized that it must have grounded out when it got caught between the pipe and mount (rubber was stripped and the wire pinched).

Now I've been reading a lot about people just removing the ABS fuze and running without ABS because that system on our 3rd gens sucked. I noticed the general consensus about ABS is to remove the system, but there's always those one or two people who don't agree on things like this, and they always plant seeds of doubt in my mind haha so I'm unsure whether I want to remove it or have it fixed. Leaning towards just removing it because my last car didn't have it and I don't like having it on my mom's car.

Take it back to the person that did that! That exhaust pipe should be almost a foot higher above the tube your upper control arms mounts to the frame side. That is just horrible in my opinion! Even if you get rid of the ABS, you still need to get that fixed.

Yeah I was not too happy with the job done haha sounds great, but I expected way better

I would make them refund my money and pay for the ABS wiring to be replaced. Thats is some BS. Whoever built your exhaust had no idea want they were doing. Take it to a place that just does exhaust work. If there is a wait for them to do it even better because thenyou know they are good. When i had my exhaust made for my civic most good places had a 1-2 week waiting list.
