New Falken AT tire (A/T3W)

According to their own website they have them in C load. 57.1 lbs. Seems heavy for a C load 275. My C load 285 KO2s are 51 lbs. 58.9 lbs E load 285s. Seems odd.

Each tire is different. The Falken AT3/W's are a larger 275 at 32.4" in diameter with a 3 ply sidewall. So the weight doesn't surprise me. It's also 10.8" wide so it's almost like tweener skinny tire. When they come back in stock I'm likely going to switch to these.

I do have the stock trail wheels on mine. The rubbing on the front fender liner near the bumper will happen no matter what wheels you are running with a 275 or larger width tire in this height.
After the lift, you will still want to mod the fender liner by moving it forward and trimming the lower corners of the front bumper. The TRD Pro vehicles have this mod done at the port from what i have read.
Also to note, some of the extra weight of the 275 AT3/W comes from having more rubber on the tread. The C rated Falkens have 18/32" tread depth while the KO2 has 15/32" and rubber is heavy.

After my lift with SCS wheels and 285s i didn't have any rubbing on the fender liner up front but I did have rubbing on the mud flaps. Taking them off remedied that but I am trying to figure out a way to leave them on to keep mud or dirt from getting slung all over the doors.

Just took delivery of 285/70/17 AT3Ws yesterday the tires look great can’t wait to mount them on my new wheels. I’m being cheap though still have maybe 5k miles left on my TRD Pro rims on 265/70 terra grapplers.

I guess I should have clarified the rubbing comment a bit. Based on your alignment specs it can be close to the mudflaps or the front fender liner. I had an alignment done and asked them to add as much caster as they could while keeping both sides even. I wanted to avoid rubbing the mudflaps and be sure it would clear when the wheel was stuffed with the wheel cranked to full lock offroad. With the trimming I did, plus the added caster, I could most likely clear the 285/70r17 without issue. I just wasn't sure if I wanted to go with a E load range or P rated 285. After reading about the 275's in the C load range I decided to give them a try.

So I have 20k on mine. I think I lost about .5 mpg to 1 mpg. It’s hard me to say for sure cause I mounted a roof top carrier not long after.

I think the road noise is pretty minimal. I was pretty surprised how quiet they were when I first got them. They have gotten a slightly louder recently as I gotten to the 20k mark but not anything crazy.

If it helps any I will probably get another set after this one unless another tire for the same price gives me a reason to switch

Couldnt wait any longer decided to mount the tires up lastnight! Lift should be showing up any day.. but actually they dnt rub that bad at all just barley catches the front bumper when turning full lock. Super happy with the wildpeaks so far

Just installed the P265/70/17’s on my ‘16 SR5 with SCS Stealth 6 wheels. I think they look great so far. I had about 45k on my stock Dunlop AT20’s. These are significantly quieter at the moment, even with the much more aggressive tread. I’m looking forward to seeing how they perform on snow (the reason I bought these) and will update when I have more feedback.

For anyone considering the same setup, I do have very minor rubbing on both sides. I’m on stock suspension and will do the fender liner mod to make a bit of room. I would not have been able to go any larger without doing some cutting of the bumper. This setup is a great way to fill the wheel up a bit more than stock while staying at stock tire size.

It’s even more apparent in person. It’s funny, I’ve owned this truck for just about 3 years and always loved the look. I came on T4R to do tire research when the stock ones started to go (Thank you to all prior contributors of this thread) and after seeing all the lifted trucks with 285’s, I started to think mine looked a bit frumpy! I like the aggressive look now and outside of a .85 bilstein 5100 lift this spring I’m going to be done. This site would cost me way too much money if I hang around too much.

I was planning to get the 275’s, but wasn’t able to find them anywhere. I contacted Falken last week and they said they’re on national back order without an eta. I didn’t really want to wait any longer, and the p-rating is better for my kind of driving anyway. I’m very happy with how everything looks now.

Love your Truck! I went back and forth a million times between the 6’s and 10’s. If I were to lift any higher I definitely would have gone with the 10’s.

Def crazy u had that much rubbing with 265s.. goes to show u each rig is diff.. im still shocked the 275s dnt rub on my wifes 19 (except full lock in reverse) still waiting for my lift to show up though

Nice setup! With your new rims being 1 inch wider with a -10 off set are more likely the factor. It's like a chick going up in cup size! :girl: something will likely rub oh and new thick rubbers. But we all have read how the wildpeaks run a tad taller than other brands

Both of our wheels are the same: 10 offset with 4.3” BS. I think another poster probably hit it when they noted the alignment plays a pretty big role.

Either way I am extremely happy with how this combo looks.

Ran into the same issue with mine. Installed the 265 Falkens on the stock wheels, no rub. The dealer scratched all 4 wheels pretty bad and made it right by giving me a huge discount on the TRD wheels. Now the passenger side rubs with the different offset. I have the E Load tire that has is slightly larger diameter than the SL. Everything is stock. Will pull the liner forward as well.
