New Falken AT tire (A/T3W)

Pulled the trigger on a set yesterday. Spent a fair amount of time researching these and comparing them against a host of other brands, but in the end my loyalty to Falken (been running various high performance Falkens on my Subarus for years) and the value factor (I can buy 5 of these for less than 4 of many other A/T tires) won out.

Hopefully they'll be here early next week and I can get them installed before the 04/15 deadline to remove my studded Hakkas.

You're good, I've got the bronze and feel they're a bit dark.. depends on the lighting though. Either way they're awesome wheels.

I got my new AT3Ws installed, this is my 3rd set of Wildpeak/Rocky Mountain ATs. For as aggressive as the tires appear they are really quiet just like their 1st & 2nd Gen ATs. I also dipped my Trail wheels and added the spacers from my 2006 4Runner.

I sold my Dunlop AT20 for $300, they only had 500 miles on them. The guy that bought them thought we was stealing them for $300 but I was more than happy. My net cost of my AT3Ws were $213.

Now that the Dunlops are off, my Trail now looks like a Trail.

Review after 2 months of use:

Had these Wildpeak tires installed back in early Feb. 2017. Extremely reasonably priced at $565 for set of four off amazon...shipped. Had someone install for me. So far I have absolutely ZERO complaints. They have exceeded all expectations. They have performed awesome in all weather conditions and ride ridiculously smooth for an AT tire. Would highly recommend.

AT3W installed 2 weeks

Have had these little over 2 weeks now. I searched and read every thread on tires and sizes I could find here. Thank you [MENTION=66316]1engineer[/MENTION] for the Tire Fitment Guide it was very useful and answered every question I could think of. I stuck with stock tire size and I am very pleased with these tires so far. I live on 6 miles of dirt road and drive 100 miles a day on the highway. These tires are super quiet on the highway and very comfortable. My road can get pretty bad with rain here and these tires have not slipped once in the mud. No even on the highway in rain I have not felt them break traction. I would highly recommend these tires to anyone considering them. KO2s were on the short list of tire but for the price I will buy the Wildpeak AT3W everytime.

Not much, if any. My average is down a couple of tenths since install but, I've done a good bit of towing as well.

Falken Tire weights

The Falken tires in 285 70 17 are considerably heavier than Cooper tires of the same size. They are available in higher ratings, like a LT or an E rated tire. The higher ratings make them heavier too. Go to the website for Falken tire and Cooper tire. Find the tire you're interested in and then select "Specifications". You'll find all kinds of useful info on sizes and weights and availability.

The heavier tire will reduce gas mileage and increase stopping distance due to the increased rotational inertia of a taller and/or heavier tire.

Looks great! I live in S. Huntsville as well. I'll have to keep a lookout for your truck..just about the same combo I have.
