I think I may have an issue with one of my tires. My front driver side tire is showing a lot more wear than the passenger. They're SL and only have a little less than 2k miles. They're at 35 psi right now, but thinking about bringing it down to 32.
I'm noticing the rubber separating on the tread already.
On the passenger side, it's not as severe and there's still a sharp straight line that you can see.
Any ideas on what might cause this?

Not sure of cause? with 2k miles the warranty is 55k - Depending where you bought them should be replaced. Discount will replace them(or should!)

What kind of driving have you been doing? Any off road miles?
I’ve had two sets of these and have never seen this happen before. While I don’t think the tire is dangerous to drive on, I’d definitely have those tires looked at. I’m sure you’ll get new rubber.

No off roading. Just highway. It may be an alignment issue. If it's not, then I'll definitely be reaching out to Falken.

If they're SL then just run them at OEM pressures, 32psi.

SL is the load rating. Standard Load.
I run about 39 in mine. I think 36 is pretty good sweet spot. I have always run them at 39 so I have gotten use to it.
Sorry, load index. Whats the number for oem and these in SL?

OEM size? or the OEM tires that came with my truck? lol
116T for the Wildpeaks in my size 265/65/18

My Falken update
About 10,800 miles on this set of stock sized tires.
Went on a recent 9 day offroad trip; only minor use of pavement. Averaged about 50 miles a day of rocky, rough trails across desert and mountains, mostly in 4x4 Low. A little snow and mud too. Fairly heavy load in the truck and it was running 35 PSI in the tires.
No flats, no sidewall damage, great traction whether crawling flat areas or 1500' up (what seemed like!) near vertical on an old rocky mining road. I used the rear locker about 4 times and it engaged/disengaged flawlessly.

Quick update: 6383 miles on the 255/80 Wildpeaks and just got done with the second tire rotation(first one was to get the tires on the same schedule as the maintenance light). Tread Depth is 15/32 with some off-roading.

I'm heavily leaning towards these tires in 275/70 size on my stock TRD Pro.

Those should ride great on your Pro but so would my ATZ P3 in 265 70 while providing more mud capability and more strength offroad. They ride surprisingly soft with a heavy duty suspension.
But, yes, the Wildpeak should be better in the rain and snow than the ATZ P3.
I guess it comes down to road vs offroad bias. Both would be a great choice.

I'm basically 95% city and 5% of the time I head west for some off roading. The stock Nitto's were garbage in the snow. I've had KO2's on my Jeeps which I really liked, but I want something different. I also want something that has snow capability so I can do some winter trips. I try to avoid mud most of the time. I also like the Wildpeak's being C load. I'm pretty sure they will fit and look good with the stock Pro suspension. I would prefer not to mess with the suspension for now. And at most I would do is the new Eibach suspension for the Pro, but only after I see some reviews of that setup.

thanks for the feedback.....what size and load? you didn’t air down for any of the trip?

A stock Toyota TRD Offroad Premium's tire is 265/70R17 and my Falken choice was a SL, standard load.

I ran 40 PSI on the highway and 35 PSI off highway over the terrain in the previous pictures.

Finally pulled the trigger and ordered a set of 5 on Thursday afternoon in 255/80r17.
I debated going wide but put on at least 30k a year, figured skinny might be better plus a 5 tire rotation will be done.
I got all 5 for $825 to my door, very happy with the price! (Also showed up the next day!!).
The real debate, do I wait a few more weeks to install until my lift shows up and I can get that installed...
