New Falken AT tire (A/T3W)

I just put these on my rig last week and am very pleased with the ride. I was afraid of road noise at highway speed but it was really quiet. I'm running SL on stock size as well and feels it fills the wheel gap pretty nicely. When I get around to a small lift I'll more than likely keep the stock size in there.

Like most have said, Discount Tire is the way to go, I took the Walmart quote to them and Discount sold me the tires for $124/each and then the warranty on top of it is hard to beat.

Well I was happy with my Falken tires AT. I chose to try the 10ply. Going back to the tire place. I deal with the same place all the time. I’m not knocking how they ride. No power loss noticed but I have a sprint booster on. The problem is issues with balancing them. There are pretty many post about 10ply keeping them balanced. Having them put the 4plys on. Also we tried 2 sets of tires for the front of my Pro.

How does those tire feel compare to your stock ones before?

The Falkens feel a lot more firmly planted to the road. Never liked the feel of
the stock Bridgestone Duellers, which I thought felt squishy & squirmy like
they were low on air pressure.

I'm running the stock tires right now and planning to go 285 Wildpeakes in a few months, but wanted to get some feed backs and see what would be a good to go with.

I run about 39 in mine. I think the sweet spot is about 36. I run a little higher to stretch out some mpg.

Thanks for that price! I immediately went to Discount Tire and purchased these tires for my new 2020 ORP. The funny thing is, Walmarts tire-center has been closed since the start of the pandemic. But they are helping us out with their pricing!

A friend of mine is a Manager for a National tire chain. They sell a lot of tires. According to him the Falken Wildpeak AT3Ws are often hard to balance due to uniformity issues. They get quite a few comebacks for balance issues, and too often have customers switching to other tires to get satisfaction.

His advice influenced my tire choice.

Do your due diligence.

I had issues with my original set and found that 4 out of 5 of them were out of round. Tirebuyer took care of me quickly and the new set of 4 balanced perfectly. Have the tires inspected carefully by the shop!

I know they made them in Thailand and some in the US. Wasn't sure they made them in China though.

Mine were made in USA. They were marked on the tires. Did not matter the 4ply still could not get them balanced. Put Nitto’s back on.

Mine was made in Thailand, but had the same issue with balance... even with multiple attempts (all including road force) they still had "jitter", as you, I went back to Nitto's - and got my 4Runner back- smooth as glass. Interestingly, one of my wheels with Nitto did not require any weight at ALL during balancing... and that is impressive for AT tire in my book!
I guess there is a reason for Falken AT tire (A/T3W) being so cheap... and looks like old saying "you get what you pay" is true... at least in my case.

I had issues too but found that they were out of round (seems like a bad batch/early quarter 2019 batch). They were warrantied and got a set from a mid-year batch and had no issues thankfully.

i bought my 16 SR5 last July with brand new General Grabber HTS60's, which were a nice highway tire, very quiet. i wanted to upgrade to an AT tire and after hemming and hawing, i was ultimately swayed to the Wildpeak by a friend who loved them on his Taco.
as many have mentioned ITT, discount tire price matched Walmart ($127), and had them road force balanced and installed in like 15 minutes. immediately went on the highway with them and it was total butter. i could not believe how quiet / vibrationless (?) they felt. i've got about 1k on them so far and couldn't be happier. i set them at 35psi on road / 20psi off road.
i can't speak to mileage difference, as my driving is kind of random.

Add me to the totally disgusted with these list. About 1500 miles on my 285/70/17's in SL load rating. Made in Thailand. 3 times these have been balanced and every time they zero out. Brand new Method wheels. Shakes like crazy from about 53 to roughly 67mph. I can't stand it. I might try having them road force balanced but honestly I'm thinking I might just go back to BFG all terrains. I've had probably 10 sets of them and never had any issues.

Edit: just looked they are in fact made in China.

Sorry to see some of you guys having balancing issues. I just got mine installed on fac wheels (285's PS) and no issues whatsoever. I am shocked how quiet they are. Installer put them at 39 psi, I am going to lower it at 35. What a difference in looks to!

Recently installed a set of (USA made) AT3's on my 4th gen. They balanced with minimal weight and are very smooth around town and at highway speeds.....so far, a happy customer.

I know the wheels should not make a difference. Mine were on SCS wheels. 3 sets all with issues. Between 50 and 60 wheel shake.
