New Falken AT tire (A/T3W)

Just purchased 4 load range C 275/70/17's (came earlier than january I guess). Going on monday, along with a small dobinson/bilstein lift and SCS wheels. pics to follow

Had the 265/70/17R mounted with SCS F5 wheels on the stock suspension this past weekend and had a ton of rub. I had to heat gun the mud flaps and push the front liners forward with some trim of the lip for full clearance. Might be time for a new suspension for additional clearance.

Man, those look large. Did the scs wheels cause the rub? Love the look.

The wheels were 17x8.5, not sure what the stock wheel is but it could’ve played a part. I was thinking I was going to be in the clear given the stock tire size but the Falkens are definitely larger given the design. The cut to the bumper stung a bit but it’s good to know that I’ll still have clearance if I get a lift.

They make Wildpeak AT3 275/70/17? I didn’t think they did. All I have seen were either 265 or 285 (probably others).

I wish somebody could put a 265/70 up next to the stock Dunpops and Bridgestone for actual size comparison. There’s no shop around me that carries em. I also the brother tire Falken Rubitrek A/T

I just realized I hadn't swung by this thread yet.
Got the 285/70 E's installed back in August, about 6,000 miles on them so far with zero complaints! With these, a 1" body lift, and the new HeftyFab tube bumper I've only taken a 1mpg hit. The 4R is consistently getting 16.9mpg (actual math, not the dash readout) whether I'm doing regular driving or even if I add a few trail rides in the mix.

I was skeptical too but then found another set of the 275/70/17's as discountwheelwarehouse.com (400 Bad Request)

Called my installer and he got em. Think the weight on them is 51lbs per tire

If you bought the LT version, they are slightly larger than the stock Dunlops due to greater tread depth (does not mean longer tread life). The SL Dunlops and Falkens in stock size, are both 31.7" diameter.

I bought the SL. Nonetheless I was still surprised by the rub.

Just ordered the LT 285. What tire pressure is recommended for the LT tires? I currently have 275 KO2 in E rating and running 38psi. Am I safe to assume the same tire pressure will work with the Falken’s?

I am running the OEM sized 265/70s. I had ordered a few weeks ago, didn't realize the 275/70s were going to be coming out this quick or I would have waited, oh well.

How much of a lift are you running with the Bilsteins?
I'm about to install them just to level out the front on my '18 ORP and figured the 275/70 shouldn't give any issues with rubbing. Did you have any issues?

Thanks! I am definitely pleased.

The Bilsteins up front are set at 0. The Bilsteins in back are not adjustable. The lift comes from the Dobinson coils (300 up front giving ~1.75in and 599 in back giving ~1.5in). If you're aiming to level it with Bilsteins and stock coils, I'd set the fronts to the 0.85 setting. That will improve the rake. The tire fitment will really depend on the offset and width of the wheel you're using. My Ray10's are 8.5in wide with a -10mm offset and I had to remove the front mudflaps, push the fender liner in and trim a really small edge off the corner of the bumper.
