Just bought my first 4runner today. I've always loved the 1st gen and got my hands on an 88 SR5. Doesn't run. Needs engine work, but I bought it as a project so not too concerned. I'm an Audi guy, so I'm hoping these are easier to work on and so far it has been.
The truck overheated and the radiator broke and the owner parked it. Pulled the radiator and timing covers and timing is good but I haven't checked for fuel, spark or compression yet. This is the second engine in the truck and there's a lot of mickey mouse stuff going on under the hood. And at least one of those mickey mice made the trip back to Maryland from West Virginia.
So that's where I am right now. Putting things on hold to exterminate so I don't get divorced. Sorry for the novel and sorry for the lack of pictures(It's white.). The only one I snapped was from the view behind the tow truck.
