New front end noise like agressive tires

We have a 2011 limited 4Runner last week we all of a suddenly have noise in the front end. Sounds almost like Agressive tires. All I can think of is it might be drive line ? As you sped up is it louder and when you come to a stop it’s normal. I hesitant to take it to the dealer 125/hr to tell me it’s fine is a bit bitey. Any suggestions would be great.

Sounds like it could be a wheel bearing. See if it gets louder/quieter as you make some turns at speed (20+ mph).

there are lots to choose from just wondering if they are basically all the same.

I have a very similar suspension/wheel/spacer setup as you, I have 92K miles, and I just replaced both of my front bearing/hub assemblies. See link below for the parts I used

Hat tip to Antman on the axle oil seal advice. Whether you do the install yourself or pay a shop, make sure to replace the seal behind the knuckle , both of mine were shot an probably contributed to the bearing failure. Its like a $7 part.

Can you point a link to that tip? I wanted the B2B bearings but had to go with what CMax did OEM. In my research I don't recall reading the Antman tip about that seal.

I expect I will the other side to do sooner or later. Probably do both again in B2B.

I can't find the exact link, but when you remove the hub/bearing assembly, there is a seal that presses in behind the knuckle that keeps moisture and debris out of the bearing. While the whole thing is disassembled it is highly advised to replace that seal, otherwise you'll be doing the same thing again soon. Not sure if its something carmax would do, since you have to unbolt the lower ball joint and swing the knuckle out of the way to install, its probably not part of their normal process.

just finished replacing both wheel bearing assemblies. that was the issue. all is well again. Bought a set with koyo bearings off of eBay .. they look pretty sweet . was a really easy fix, the biggest issue was putting the dust caps back on that is a real pain in the ass.
