New guy here... needs help

Whats up fellas I just picked up an '06 Runner and need to change somethings. This is my first DD suv, I have always had fullsize 4wd trucks but decided I was ready for a change now. The truck is exceptionally clean with low miles so I looked past the 22's thinking maybe I could deal with it. Its been 2 days since I bought it and all I can think about it changing the wheels out... but before I do all that I have to get rid of the rake. I have been reading the forum and decided for my needs the cornfed 1" should work but I am just not sure it will be enough lift. What do you guys think? Should I get the 2/1 and just leave off the rear?

You have a million options i agree with aha. Look at that page he linked.

Cheapest and easiest route would be adding some daystar or equivalent spacers from ebay or somewhere. Billstein shocks would also be a good start, probably better than just spacers.

give this thread a good read and you'll be up on your available options. you can message people that can attest to the benefits or pros and cons of each option.

i'd personally never use spacers but its all personal preference. for your needs I'd look into FJ springs or just a stiffer front strut.

Thanks guy I will give that thread another look. The runner will always be a street truck so I don't need anything super really. I have a jeep for anything more challenging than the city potholes. I just want to get rid of the rake and throw some stock\better wheels on it.

go for the daystar 2/1 spacer setup it'll be the cheapest option, ride good on the road, and get you the stance your looking for. just make sure whatever spacer setup you get is a top out spacer and not a coil spring spacer.

factory is about a 1inch rake from rear to front which makes the running boards and the roof rack level. so if you put the two inch spacer up front and leave out the rear 1in spacer it should level out the rake, then if you want to pick the rear up a bit throw in the one inch rear spacer.

you'll lose some caster adjustment but it shouldnt be enough to cause the steering to be loose. If you dont like the effect it has on the steering go for a set of SPC light racing adjustable upper control arms to set the caster back to factory.

Thanks a lot that makes perfect sense and was exactly what I was looking for. I had a daystar kit on my last F150 and had good results with it.

The wheels kinda remind me of Rice and Pho's set.

Think they want another set? These are def not to my taste. All I am trying to do now is see if I can sell them to fund new ones.

You should order the 2/1 kit and sell me the rear spacer! Congrats and welcome

hahaha funny you say that. I bought it in Charlotte. I just ordered the kit to get the stance right so its time to start looking for some replacements. Next decision stocks or some nice black aftermarkets

Them rims are not my taste, no chrome for me. If you are keeping those, considering upsizing the tires, 285 45 r22 fills the gap. The rims should fit the american cars, they do have a smaller bore.

If your looking for good replacement rims you should check out SCSPerformance on the forums, they make some quality rims that look pretty sweet in my opinion. By the way clean runner!

Thanks guys. I def will be selling them as soon as I can find a deal on the stock 5 spokes. The wheels are in super shape so hopefully I wont have a problem getting rid of them.

Check out the split spokes from tundras or sequoia's. I replaced my stock sport wheels with the gay sequia limited wheels and they look way better. May be because of the cladding though.

Second vote for SCS or the Konig Six shooters

As a fan of six spoke wheels, I opted for the TRD FJ cruiser wheels and I really like them. As soon as I saw them on an FJ I knew I was going to get them one day.

Here's a pic of the wheel alone... I was test fitting it over the caliper.

Be warned, these are 16's.
