Hello all!
I don't really know where to start or what info I should put here but here goes.
I have a 98 4 Runner Limited I got back in 2003. Mileage is around 250,000 and staring to have some maintenance issues. I have got a DX completed and they want 4gs to fix everything. I think I can repair it myself for a lot less or maybe I should just get a new car.
Left Rear Alex seal leaking
- Need emg brake shoes from oil soakage
Leaking from steering rack
Fog lights not working
- No power coming from fog light switch
Timing Belt needs to be changed
All new breaks
They did not have this on the DX but I’m also having trouble starting it.
- When I turn the key there will be a tick sound, but won’t turn over. I just keep turning the key until the vh will start. Sometimes it’s right away and sometimes it takes a few tries.
The last thing I can think of at this time is every now and then when coming from a complete stop it’s as if the vh is out of gear and then pops into gear.
I want to know is it time to get a new ride? or should I attempted to fix it on my own. Granted I have little mechanical exp but i can figure it out. If it gets to be too much i have people i can call on but im trying to do this the cheapest way i can.
