Hello everyone. I am new to the forum and have just purchased a 2012 T4R SR5. I am going to put liquid metal 20in Rims that are 20x9, 6-139.7 and 18mm offset. I know that 275/55/20 will fit with no problems. My question is has anyone tried 295/50/20? They are .02% difference to the 265/70/17 that are on the 4R now. If so were there any issues? I will never take it off road and it is my daily driver. I just thought the wide stance of the 295 would look good. Ive searched the forum and cant find a definative answer. Thanks for your help.

Hi btrentp,
Welcome to T4R.org. You'll find quite a bit of info on these forums, and plenty of well informed ppl who'll be glad to help out. A 275mm/55%/ R20 is the widest tire that you can run with No Lift (w/occasional liner rub), which is what I am using now.
A 295mm width is very large, and I'm not quite sure how much lift you will need so as not to create "rubbing issues". There are a lot of posts here regarding tire sizes and height requirements, so just use the search feature, pour a (large) cup of coffey, and go to town! :tea: Enjoy the forum!!

If i've done my math correctly a +18 offset on a 9' wheel would be equal to a 5.75 backspace. i'm thinking you will rub the upper control arm with that wheel. look for a wheel with a 0 to -12 offset which will move the tire outward in the wheel well.
For comparison my 9" wide wheel with -12 offset (4.5" backspace)

Will the 275/55/20s work on the stock LE wheels without spacers, etc.? Sorry to hijack the post, but I am needing new tires and am considering Nexen Roadian HP tires that are 275/55/20.
