Hello all. I've been a lurker from IH8Mud. I used to own a 1992 Landcruiser and want to get back into another Toyota and decided to buy a 3rd Gen 4runner.

My brother had a 95 that I wanted to buy about 3-4 years ago but he end up selling to a friend of his that needed more than I did which is how I ended up with the FJ80.

I've been reading the new buyers guide on T4R a little religiously

The one I'm looking at and the seller wants $13k. Want your opinion on price

160k miles
TRD supercharger
navigation and stereo components
tundra front brakes

PNW is damn pricey and it sucks. are you really stuck on a supercharger? each tank will be 10$ more expensive because you need premium. I got a deal on my 97 manual for 5600, after tires about 6400 total into it. And that is double what I got mine for.. Mines also clean title not supercharged. But it is a manual. I think you could find better deals if you're willing to hold out.

what should I be paying for a SC?

Not really looking for an SC but it be nice to have that extra power to tow my track car.

Doesn't the 4runner have to take premium even without the SC?

Most of us run on regular.
15-19 MPG on highway without SC.
Try to find something with a rear locker!

I was debating on a rear elocker but I know I'm not going to do any mudding. At most I would go camping but who knows since I will be moving to Portland in July and will be meeting some other T4R people.

Way too pricey IMO. I know it's a 02 and the PNW, but you can find one for 8-9K and throw a brand new supercharger for 3 and still be below the price and probably less miles. Tundra brakes are cheap and so are stereo's, so don't get caught up on those aspects. I'd pay around 9k tops for that 4runner.

Wow... I should sell mine for $15k because it has a locker. Lol. Who am I kidding. I wouldn't sell for less than $20k now that I have it. My 89 pickup has so much into it that I wouldn't sell it for less than 10k, and it's only 2wd.

Way too much. They pop up here and there. Just keep an eye out and be willing to drive to get it. I went to Seattle to get mine for $5500.

I just bought a 99 with a supercharger and 138k on it for $8200 and I feel like I overpaid. You could come out way ahead doing it yourself even if you paid full retail and installation.

Flew to RI for a 2000 Subaru Impreza 2.5rs as they're cheaper over in the east coast compared to a stock one in WA for $10k+, flew to UT for an ae86, made a friend drive from the Bay Area for another ae86 to Seattle, LOL

Found one on Craigslist in Socal, 98 or 99 limited with SC for $3900 LOL might be beat.

Looked on Cars.com and the cheapest 99 with over 250k miles for $2200 from a Toyota dealership some where in the midwest to the east coast. Shipping should cost $1000 and a new rebuilt motor from NW Yota should run about $5500 so well in my budget of spending $9k
This is the most likely best option as a rebuilt motor with 2 year warranty be nice.

Kind of looked at avenues to cover me in which direction I plan on going towards
