New Head unit for radio 2005 Sport V8

Looking to replace my stock stereo head unit with a aftermarket one. Something that has Bluetooth and aux input. I have the upgraded JBL system.

How many channels does this have? What is the wattage that I am looking for in the new unit?

I am very new to this, so please bear with me.

I had the JBL navi and had the Kenwood eXcelon DDX593 6.2" put in. Works great so far.

This is what I used when I installed my Pioneer AVH 4500BT

Works great. Keeps the use of all the buttons on the steering wheel.

I went with the JVC:
JVC KW-R920BTS

Has BT and AUX and perfectly matches the OEM orange dash colors. I didnt need a touchscreen etc.



Dash Kit:

Metra 95-8210 Dash Kit

Wiring Kit to retain Factory amp, sub, Nav, and steering wheel controls:

PAC RP4.2-TY11 Wiring Interface


About $200 total and it sounds SOOOOOO much better than the stock head.

Thats a solid price for it. I paid $109 pre black Friday through crutchfield and have no regrets.

I wanted to stay economical as we get seriously dick punched on the $$$ of the wiring harness for the JBL and RDS system if you want to maintain all the OEM options.

I put in a Kenwood Excelon Dnx693s from Crutchfield. I too have the JBL Synthesis with nav factory unit. Got everything I need from Crutchfield and installation was extremely simple. Steering wheel controls work just fine with the recommended adapter. Like someone else said just go to Crutchfield and punch in your vehicle info and it will show you what you need...

I was all in for less than 400 touch screen navigation/DVD/cd/Bluetooth/iPhone android mirroring/rear view camera. Jensen 7022.

Very happy with it. Does everything the more expensive ones do like alpine and pioneer.. it comes stock in many of the newer vehicles as well.

the JBL system has an external amp, no need to worry about wattige. I just went on crutchfield and picked up a nice bundle of parts, they are very helpful and will set you up with everything you need for a successful install.

when you replace the HU and tie back into the factory amp, do you lose the center dash speaker?
