I am in a small town in BC, Canada and have had many Toyotas over the last 30 plus years.
One of the first was a 1980 4 WD short box pickup which was awesome in the mountains here. Solid front axle and it had 12" travel in front (articulation) and 13.5" in the rear. The axles were open, but the wheels were usually on the ground, so a locker was not really that necessary.
Now have a 3rd Gen that is also an incredibly faithful car, though it was quite an adjustment to get used to the really low ground clearance. It needs a lift, and there would be a number of things that would be nice to have.
As things break (like a lower ball joint) I upgrade them, (Tacoma tie rod ends and lower ball joints), and as things wear out they get upgraded, like the Tundra brake upgrade. Thanks to the existing posts on this forum for that.
I appreciate the extensive mods many have here, and hope to have something to contribute to the forum.
