New Here with my Urban Runner (pics added)
Hello Everyone,
Just picked up a 2008 titanium urban runner 4x and wanted to introduce myself. I'll post pics when I get a moment but I'm sure you all know what it looks like!
First off since I always liked seeing what people paid, my MSRP was $36,355 ($37,248 before extra value package discount) and I paid $31,800 which works out to $1,100 under invoice. I took the .9% financing as it was too good of a deal to pass up. There was a black one for less but I paid more for what I wanted.
Options: FE, NA, QY, RL, SE, TO, WL and Z1 (dunno if I will use all of those nets).
I really wanted titanium and this was one of the few remaining in CA, especially Northern CA. There's still one more in Fairfield if someone wants one.
Most I saw were black (beautiful but hard to care for) or blizzard pearl (will look old in a few years imho).
Initial impressions are that the trucks is nice and smooth and will do my family just fine. Likes: the alacantara material, 18" limited wheels, beautiful titanium color, leather shift knob, color keyed grille.
Dislikes: Stupid, crappy, tinny sounding deck and tom tom nav that works but is unforgiving with bigger fingers. One of these days, I'll replace it with a double din nav. Seat "pleather" is thin and already has a hole in the back (didn't think I'd meet my service writer yet!). XREAS badge on the rear (looks like I added it to brag about stock suspension!).
Questions for the experts:
1) Did anyone get a license plate bracket for the front? Looks like the port guy was cross-eyed when he drilled my holes and the screws don't even match!
2) While there is a space there and two plugs, for some reason, there's no "oh sh*t" handle above the drivers' head. No biggie, just wondering if everyone's is like that.
3) Lastly and most annoyingly, the steering column just left of the ignition is already scratched from normal use! I searched in vain for an after-market adhesive moleskin type of patch to apply. Hell, I might have a bunch made and start selling them here. No excuse for a ~$40K vehicle to have such a poor design. What do you folks do to make sure you steering column cover doesn't show the "abuse" of keys hitting it.
As for my immediate plans- 35% front tint, factory bug-guard and a decent sound system.

It almost looks like a fog or a haze over it now, but if you look closely it is a bunch of hair line scratches.
: ) It's a little disapointing that it scratches so easily.
