New lift & new look on my dad's 2000 4Runner

Been a long time, I thought of giving you guys an update on my dad's 4Runner. BTW, this 4Runner my dad bought new on 2000, then years later it became my daily driver, then it became my wife's daily driver, now is back to be my dad's daily driver. We are planing to keep this 4Runner in the family as long as possible, so who knows... it might be my kids too in the future . AND... it only has like 45K miles :bravo:.

So my dad wanted a new look on his 4Runner and he basically told me what he wanted his truck to look like.
So we got to the computer, picked what he wanted and went on a shopping spree.

And yes, everything has been installed by me .
Friend of mine have been helping me cleaning up some of the wiring for the HIDs and helping me with the install of the bumpers. My dad have been helping around too.
So what do you guys think...? Do you think he's getting what he ask for?

List of things he wanted...
1. Get rid of all chrome and unpainted plastics.
2. 95% murdered look.
3. Toy Tec 1" body Lift.
4. Toy Tec 1 1/2" spacer lift
5. Spidertrax wheel spacers
6. Bigger and more aggressive looking tires (265/75-16 GY Duratrac).
7. LED tail-lights.
8. HID fog lights.
9. Red painted calipers.
10. Front Tinted windows
11. Different bull bar
12. Saddle type step bars.
13. Headlight covers.
14. LED 3rd brake light.
15. New functional dual exit exhaust
16. New stereo - not installed yet
17. Debadged.
18. New rear fog lights (he likes the ones on my SRT ) - not installed yet
19. Paint Correction - To be done by me, not done yet
20. Black Seat covers.
Might be forgetting a few other things.
Ohh yeah the grille front emblem, I'll be painting black too.
Also, new custom brackets for the bull bar are being made to lift it 1" back up into the bumper.

Other mods that were installed...
Deck plate mod.
AMSOIL Air filter
Magnaflow 18" muffler.
AIRAID Intake Tube

I'll be updating the list and pics as the rest of the items get installed.

Looks good! About the dual exhaust, there is no functional dual exhaust since the manifolds go to one pipe before the cat. Unless you run separate exhausts from each head going to separate cats and mufflers (would have to be custom and very expensive), it won't be for anything but looks.. which is ok, I just didn't want you to spend $$ thinking you will get something out of it you won't.

Thanks! Yeah, a lot of people is telling me it looks mean as hell.

Looks good! About the dual exhaust, there is no functional dual exhaust since the manifolds go to one pipe before the cat. Unless you run separate exhausts from each head going to separate cats and mufflers (would have to be custom and very expensive), it won't be for anything but looks.. which is ok, I just didn't want you to spend $$ thinking you will get something out of it you won't.

Thanks!, Oh no, I meant functional meaning it will be connected on a "Y" either before or after the axle, so is not a dummy pipe like I've seen on others. Is going to be for looks only. Still debating whether to leave the tips chrome or paint them black.

Wheels were painted by a friend that has a bodyshop, but I'm thinking of getting them powder-coated if the paint don't work out.

Very nice looking but the headlamp covers look a bit cheesy (later 3rd gens have nice looking headlamps without covering them up) and look like they hinder light output otherwise it was a major improvement over the mostly stock look you started with.

What did you use to prep and paint the fatlip bumper plastic piece? That looks better than OEM.

If you do plan on taking on the trails I'd forgo the dual exhaust since you don't need more piping to possibly get crunched on those departure angles plus freeing up the exhaust too much might hurt the backpressure needed to accelerate the 3.4 and it isn't real strong to begin with.

Sweet truck overall tho'.

Those headlight covers have been in and out of the truck a few times, we had them stored and after we had the truck all blacked out, I said a what the heck let's throw them back in to make it look even more black lol. But I agree it kills the light output a bit more even thou HID's are installed. We have other plans with those headlights, we want to retrofit projectors in there, and my dad still debating whether to paint the inside of the headlight black after the projectors are in.

The flex additive was used as it should on all plastics so it won't crack or peel. The plastic step pad piece on the rear bumper was also painted the same way.

We've been talking to a friend of mine that hit the trails often and we are planing to take the batrunner with him. I'll ask my dad to consider the dual exhaust after I mention to him your comments.

Yeah I liked that name too.

Yeah I still need to install the front spacers to lift up the front a bit more, but he still wants a bit of a raked look, he doesn't like that sagging rear at all, can't blame him... who does.

Light output is not too bad around town but it's noticeably less than without them.

Yeah we saw a few pics here on other 4Runners using the Duratracs and after reading some reviews on those tires he said hose are the ones.

That looks bad a$$! Me jealous. I don't think I'd go with projectors if it's going to be seeing trail at night. Me and a friend were discussing this yesterday at work. Projectors have a cut-off, as in there is absolutely NO light above that point. I had aftermarket projectors and it really sucked on hilly roads. On the way down the hills I could see all the way to the bottom but had no idea what was down the road any further than that. This is easily solved with fog lights though.
