New Look Feedback Thread

I switched the skin back to "child of new look", AKA the previous look. Haven't tried the mobile friendly version yet.

If you'd like to revert back you can in the edit options menu. Scroll down and in the miscellaneous section is the forum skins. Hit the drop down and go to "child of new look"

Thank GOD for ^^this^^. Personally, the new look sucks, but thank you for making it possible to roll back to the old familiar look and feel.

Using my iphone, I prefer the old version. Haven’t yet tried it on my laptop.

Responsive layouts are a tough thing to get right with so many devices out there. Currently for me it feels kinda chaotic. Here’s how it looks for me

My first impression is that I don't like it. But maybe it'll grow on me.

I like the color scheme but I think there needs to be some more bold bordering to break up the different sections of the page (I.E. post time bar, tags bar, post thanks bar all need a bolder border)

The "Page X of X" above and below threads is not bold font (the first X) and therefore hard to tell what page you are on w/o looking at URL.

REQUEST - please bring back the functionality where in each thread the "OP" is marked in comments by OP after the 1st post. For example on post #5 of a thread it used to say something like "Brian_X [OP]" in a situation where post #1 was created by "Brian_X"

This functionality was actually very useful. I just noticed it is gone now. BTW creating this thread is very smart, thank you.

I'm sure there are reasons why you not do this but if you really want feedback move this thread to the general or off-topic section which has far more traffic. I don't think very many T4R users ever come over to this part of the website.

Thanks for this info to revert back to the old layout. But it’s kind of an obscure way to do it. Most users would never be able to figure this out. How about a note somewhere obvious on the home page, or bottom of all pages, to “revert to desktop mode”.

One of my big dislikes about a lot of mobile modes is the intense amount of scrolling you have to do to read the posts. There is so much clutter to get through when in a portrait mobile view.

At first, I didn't like the new look at all. Us old farts are resistant to change. But the more I look at it, I am starting to like it.

This is regarding the regular (desktop) version. I haven't looked at the mobile version yet, as I do very little web surfing on my phone.

BTW, the new template is WAAAYYY better on my laptop. What I'd prefer via mobile is to be non-responsive, I don't mind the pinch and zoom.

I'm liking the new look as well but having a lot of the same issues others are having. Oversized pictures are being compressed so they look like one of those mini edits.



Also not sure if it's related to the update or not but for some reason my account keeps logging out every 20 minutes or less. Like if I open a new tab from within a thread to have another page of that thread open it will log me out. And it also gives me the error message of an invalid redirect when I try to log back in.
