Hello everyone, just joined last week and just bought a T4R 4 days ago.
I've been a Toyota fan ever since I was a kit, started with a 1991 Land Cruiser that my parents bought in 95 or 96 I think, just when I turned 16 and could drive. I loved that thing, wish I could have it back, actually got it stuck in mud once, had to get a huge farm tractor to get it out. Took every last bit of money I had at the car wash to get it cleaned up, and just in time before my parents got back home, they never did find out about that either, but it was a close call.
Anyway, my wife and I have been thinking about getting a larger SUV to replace our 06 Jeep Liberty for a while, this was her car when we got married. I personally wouldn't have bought a Jeep but it has really been a good car for us, just really small inside. We found a really good deal on a camper but it was too much for the Jeep to pull so the search started for something larger. I first started looking for a Sequoia but we decided we didn't want anything that big so I started looking for a V8 4Runner.
Came across this 2007 V8 with 147k Miles on it. Bought it from the second owner, he had the oil changed every 5k with full synthetic, had the timing belt kit done at 101k. I spent quite a bit of time under it and could not find any fluid leaks anywhere. It does have some paint scratches from going off road, he liked to duck hunt.
Mechanically the only things I have found so far are these minor problems.
AC needed charged, already fixed that myself.
One of the tire pressure sensors needed replaced, had my mechanic do that while it was getting inspected.
The information center bulbs are burnt out, going to order some soon.
Pretty good drive train klunk, I just ordered a pistol grip grease gun yesterday to lube the drive shafts.
Overall I think I got a good one, only have one pic so far.
