You are lucky to have matching black fenders, I am not sure if that is even original Toyota.
I am not a fan of the fat-lip bumper but you can change that by picking up a 96-98 bumper from a salvage yard and painting it black. I'd also recommend dropping the running boards and changing the color of the front/rear bumper to flat-black or semi-gloss as opposed to matching.

Thanks for the comments. Detail was over a year ago, I believe it was $200? I forget but I will tell you I was impressed.
-Largest stains were in the back rug, I forgot to take pics, but it was huge improvement.
-The resprayed the rear air deflector and tow hitch that were faded without me requesting
-very professional business, owner came to my house 2 days before to inspect my car...who does that for 02 4runner?? Considering they do a lot of high end cars, I didnt think the owner would personally come give me a free consultation.

well a new carpet floor mat kit from Toyota is $90 (i believe), so keep that in mind when you pay to have your carpet mats cleaned. You may just want to buy all new floormats from Toyota.

That is a good point. I thought about that but at the same time I wanted it clean out top to bottom once I purchased the car.

Look up sport edition 4runners, all have matching fenders that are original. Black was a bit more rare.
I love the OEM look, it would be weird to have 02 model with 98 bumper, not to mention resale value drop. Running boards has been my list, that seems a bit more practical since no one uses them.

4Runner looks awesome. Detail was worth all the money and then some. Black looks so great when taken care of. What are your plans for the deflector? I'd be interested in it.
As far as the front bumper. You would also have to cut the sub-frame off to get it to fit. I didn't like the fatlip bumpers at first, but now I prefer them on Runners. Just like I didn't like the front end of the 01-04 Tacomas at first. I guess it's moot now that I have a tube bumper up there.

Thanks for the compliments. I think it was worth the money, considering how in depth they go into the paint and interior.
Deflector was trashed- sorry! I was in the process of moving. Usually I do not like to waste things or not at least try craigslist.

Do it. That's why we have build threads. So others can get ideas. Check out Four_Flusher's build thread. He's got his setup almost as my twin too and his is black like yours. Will give you a good idea of what it will look like.

hepar, just go to toyota and get some touch up paint, its like $6-8 and will make your rig look like new(sorta). but no seriously it will look 10x better, mine is sunfire red and wow i woulda paid $20 for that stuff it looks so good. from 3-5' away you will never notice anyone did touch up to it, its only when you get up close to it and inspect the paint that you see the spots, and if you do get it cut n buffed after that it will look even better!

Yeah I saw his sweet build. I check the build thread almost daily hoping for some new inspiration.
Things preventing me from modding:
1. I don't see myself offroading often, but I like the idea. Most of my mountain bike rides cross over fire roads and I know there are trails for 4x4.
2. Decrease in MPG
3. $$$ spent
4. Once I mod, I have a feeling I wont stop (happened to me with my MR2 and s2k)
5. I am a State Farm Agent, not sure the image I would portray visiting my clients in a murdered out lifted black 4runner. smh.
6. I do not have enough knowledge to complete to work my car. I would have to pay $$$ for most mods and labor.

Very cool, we are close. Yes, we do occasionally have meet ups and offroad trips. Anyone is welcome to come, however the trails typically taken call for a lift or lockers, etc. There's usually a second trail for the lesser equipped vehicles, but you most likely won't need to take them if you don't care about scrapes.
Sweet, I'll let you know personally if we have a meet n greet or offroad venture.
