New Member from NM

Hey everyone, just signed up for the forum after reading on here for a few years. I've owned a couple Tacomas in the past but I'm looking to get a 4runner now with a baby on the way.

Anyone have any input on 3rd gen vs 4th gen? The Tacoma's I've had had the 3.4L so I've witnessed their reliability, but I don't have any experience with the 4.0L motor in the newer Toyotas. THanks

I can't answer your question - I had a 2.4L pre-taco SR5, and now I currently own an Avalon with the 3.0 and, of course, my 4.0L runner. All have been great motors.

Thanks for the input man! Cool to see another New Mexican on here! I've just kind of started looking recently. I would like to find something local but we'll see if that'll happens. Seems like most of the Runners for sale around here are pretty beat up or really over priced (or both).

A friend of mine has an '05 that drives pretty sweet. We've taken it skiing and it drove great. My brother used to have a '98 that seemed awesome too. I guess I'll just see what I find out there and perhaps that will help me decide.
