New member with a question

Hi from Virginia, I'm new to the 4-runner but not new to SUV's or off-roading. I've always liked 4-runners and wanted one. We just purchased a 2015 trail model with all the goodies for our new family adventure vehicle. I was reading the owners manual and I noticed it said that it said that when it is in 2wd that it is front wheel drive. Did I read that wrong our misunderstand? It's not a bad thing if that's the case but I just assumed it was like other 4x4's in that it is rear wheel when in 2hi. Thanks for any help and sorry if it's a dumb question.

Easy, it never came up. I just assumed that it was like every other suv I've ever driven that is rear wheel drive when not in four wheel drive. I do appreciate your super helpful reply though.

So I figured it out in a very low tech way, drove through some grass turned off the traction control and mashed on it. Rear wheels broke traction, so it rear wheel drive. So ether the wording in the owners manual is goofy or I have reading comprehension issues. Either way I'm thrilled to have this 4-runner. As I said before I have always liked them and wanted one and I'm looking forward the adventures it's going to take my family on over the coming years.

First rule of talking trash is proof read your own words. Throwing the words "no offense" in front of a sentence doesn't make it any less condescending. I am pretty sure this forum is for enthusiast. From what I read about the individual, they are.

Thanks Colo15T4R,we're getting snow here in central VA as we speak and there is a possibility that we may way up to 6"-10" in the morning. I'm thinking I'll be testing the mud and snow setting on the T4R in the morning, excited.

Thanks for the welcom. We took her out already, no pics though. She performed flawlessly as expected. We have a trip to the Outerbanks of N.C. scheduled for the summer, can't wait to put her on the beach and see how she does.
