I assume it works similar to cars that don't have a dedicated turn signal. Assuming brake light has 3 settings (Off, On-Dim, On-Bright). I'm guessing here, but I'm sure the video will clarify.

If BRAKE

• Brake Light = On-Bright
• 3rd Brake Light = On

If Turn Signal

• Brake Brightness = Alternating On-Dim and On-Bright
• 3rd Brake Light = Off

Cool, but I wouldn't want it on my rig. If I have a vehicle with a red turn signal, especially performing dual operations with the brake lights, how will other drivers know that my other turn signal(s) is/aren't out and I'm not just tapping on the brakes? I like the amber turns as it's really obvious that means I flipped the indicator stalk.

But that company won't sell any diodes at 1000% markup that way lol.

A lot of cars use the tail lamp/brake light as turn indicators... this is very common.

Good point, but honestly there are plenty of cars with red turn signals. I think the 2016 Toyota Tacoma has red turn signals. I forget... but I agree nonetheless.

I actually really considered this Mod. But I decided not to and here's why.
The only way to properly get an LED to flash/dim is by using Pulse Width Modulation (PWM). PWM is a circuit that pulses power to the diode on and off hundreds of times per second. It appears that they're using a 40% running light and 60% brake/turn.
When you have a dedicated circuit strictly for Run/Tail then add a 3rd task on top of it- you run the risk of confusion on the general population not knowing your intentions eg: Brake or turn.

Plus the Amber light catches attention. If you really wanted to increase light output you could just use a Switch-back White and Amber LED bulb in the turn signal housing and tap into the White for reverse.

Harley's been doing this or selling the kit to convert their motorcycles for years. It's legal.

The only thing I don't like is the price at $120 for the cheapeast option with bulbs from the vendor. That seems steep for what it is. At that price I'd go with the plug n play switchback kit as mentioned and not have to alter my factory wiring in any way.

Alas, there's not a darn thing wrong with the factory setup so all the above seem like a way to spend money without much tangible benefit other than to be different.
