I don't feel that the public really needs full autos either. My goal was not to be an ******* but to make a point to others that criminals don't follow laws to begin with so more laws would only restrict law abiding citizens because, well they follow the law. A large majority of our population has misconception that guns are responsible for shootings. We don't have a gun control problem we have a culture problem.

I think the number and type of guns you can own should be directly related to your tax bracket.

1%ers can own RPGs, etc., anything to protect their assets from the rioting masses when this country goes to hell.

The 57% in the middle can arm with semiautos, handguns, and shotguns.

The 42% who don't pay taxes can't own guns.

Nothing qualifies me for an opinion, but if you must ask, my response would be that i have seen way too much violent crime in my life. I as well see no reason for the general public to possess full auto assault weapons. Wouldn't it much nicer if the Mexican drug Cartels shot everyone with paint ball guns ?
It is also interesting that most violent crimes in the same category as the the one at hand, are always committed by white, middle class, or upper middle class people that are actually intelligent, or above average IQ'S.
Sure going out and blowing crap to hell with a full auto weapon is fun, but that does not mean that any num nuts should be able to go purchase one. I get the 2nd amendment blah blah blah, bottom line, these weapons are built to kill and that is it, want to play with one, join the service or become a LEO.

"Full auto" huh? Your use of this phrase illustrates your lack of knowledge. Ironically, virtually every LEO or service member I know is a staunch supporter of the 2nd ammendment, conceal carry, etc.

Huh !, well !, uh ! Don't really know where to go with this, but i assure you that not every LEO is for conceal carry. Think any large inner city.

Im all down for stricter enforcing and what not. Im definetly all up for banning full auto weapons because no one should need a full auto weapon.

You might also be surprised to know that US citizens also happen to own: tanks, fighter jets, bombers, flame throwers (ZERO regulation on these), anti-aircraft guns, Howitzers, mortars, and countless others that would take me an eternity to list. Class III weapons and their existence have, had, and will continue to have ZERO affect on your life.

I read through this and saw what I was expecting: Illegally modified semi auto rifles by a registered felon.

Every LEO I've ever discussed this topic with, some family, others acquaintances, are very supportive of CWPs and those that go through the trouble to get them. Those people aren't the ones they are worried about.. you know, the law abiding people that want to prevent crime and understand a LEO can't be everywhere at once.

You don't know regular citizens that have them LEGALLY (without NFA3) . Silencers are NOT banned... what is the connection? Full auto goes boom real fast silencers do not control fire rates.... so wtf are you talking about?

Not federally. Only by your state. Meaning that if your state is a class 3 state you can own a fully automatic weapon. That weapon is just HIGHLY taxed and EXTREMELY expensive. Depending on the state it can take 6-12 months to get the permit for it.

Of those with NFA permits how many have used said weapon in a mass murder..... in other words the law in place is working

since when has anything that's been talked about in the last few weeks to a month been based on facts or logic? this is the same knee jerk crap that happened in the 90's that got the first AWb passed, the first AWB was in response to the whole going postal thing tied with the rise of gang violence and the invention of crack in the late 80's among other things, but again it was the criminals of that time that got them banned and i can totally see it playing out again.....

north hollywood shootout happened during the last assault weapons ban....again outlaw guns and only outlaws will have them....the main reason that was so bad was because the cops themselves weren't equipped with sufficient firepower,mostly pistols and shotguns... it ended pretty quickly once swat showed up....

Yes but I never used them anyway. What pissed me off is our local online classifieds stopped the listing of firearms sales.

I used to use groupon periodically, mostly for gifts, but no longer.

Check out armslist.com for classifieds. I imagine many listings will soon migrate there.
