Aaaaaaaaaaand there you have it.
Yet again, it is the tired old argument of "another law could have stopped this from happening". Never mind that 41 laws did not stop what happened at Sandy Hook.
What's sad is they did this back in '94 and the FBI actually conducted a study and concluded that the AWB and magazine ban had ZERO affect on preventing or reducing crime. This new push for tearing down human rights is just an attempt to appeal to the fringe left and low-information voters.
Let's hope there's still some smart people remaining in the world and that they outnumber the "voting dumb".
FYI - I'm on a one-man campaign to sign up as many new members for the NRA as I can. So far, I've got 6 people signed up. We all need to do our part to defeat those that want to take our rights.

So many useful idiots standing behind the biggest idiot on that stage.
I find it interesting that the medical examiner said, get this, NO ONE in Sandy Hook was shot with a rifle. All done by handguns. Imagine the politics and media trying to hurry it up to pass a gun ban for a rifle that wasn't even used. Ridiculous and absurd! Have a feeling what will happen next will be what happens in Iraq and Afghanistan...an incident will occur and then the media will be attacked instead of first responders though.

This bill covers any and all semi-automatic rifles. Not just the 157 named.
Semi-auto shotguns might be covered as well. This bill needs to be defeated and that ugly human being known as a Feinstein needs to be voted out of office.

Expect to see a lot of resistance from the states on this. They are growing weary of federal edicts.

So how about to own one......
- a thorough background and psychological test is performed every 2 yrs - owner covers cost
- up to 6 random unannounced inspections per year of the weapon and where it is stored and secured.
- 10 round magazine max
- no mods. Any evidence and it's confiscated.

Define "assault weapon" then we can have intelligent conversations about this subject.
Until then, what you propose is not even borderline tyranny, it is absolutely without a f*cking doubt, tyranny. I will not stand for it, and anyone that believes in a free nation would not.
It looks like there is, at least in part, a population density function here (or could be). Some details on the analysis would help with the inference.

how does it influence you? :rofl:
if it is tied to density then the answer is Fix gun violence by fixing poverty by fixing education.......not banning things....
If it is a simple count, then the crime stats are exactly what you'd expect: where there are more people we would expect more gun crimes. If it is a per capita rate, then that would tend to control for the density function (and would make it a much more interesting statistic). I just can't tell from the map which it is.
