New Owner! Missing somthing :(

Hi All!

I just wanted to say 'hi' as a first time new owner of 2006 Toyota 4Runner SR5 4x4 V6.

After I bought it, I realized it was missing the Bottle Jack and Spare Tire let down tool. I have searched EBay, and they want over $120 for just the tool! I also went to a junk yard to no avail. I know I can get a bottle jack anywhere....

Can someone recommend where I can get the spare tire let down tool or have a spare one I can buy from them?

You could look on ebay. But I believe you could get a long 3/8" extension and it would work.

It could be easily made from some square stock tubing at your local hardware store. All you need is square end to fit winch, about 2 feet of total shaft length and crank handle.

I have the stock jack too if you want it. After lifting its useless to me, need my hi-lift or floor jack to get it up.

What's your jacking point when you use your hi-lift?

I've seen those but wondered, I'm guessing you would only use that adapter if you didnt have to service that particular tire? or a suppose lift it then let it down where the frame or axle is sitting on a log or make shift (or if your prepared) jack stand. def. just answered my own question haha but ill post it anyway

I asked cuz it looks like you don't have sliders. Please explain how you fix a flat by using the wheel adaptor. Lift, stabilize the axle and replace tire?

Can also lift with a D-ring in the hitch for the rear axle. (how many people does it take to change a tire?)

Don't change tires with it, I've honestly never HAD to use it.
But I've used it in deep snow and popped stuff under the tire to grab traction and get out I suppose I could have just snatched it or pulled it out but I had to justify the $50. It's in the shed now.

I use the floor jack and jack stands in the driveway for everything

Never used stock jack for anything. Fire extinguisher is there now.
