New Owner: P2270 and P2271 codes

So I’ve had the new toy two weeks, highway trip today with my 15 year old behind the wheel. He complained that it wasn’t accelerating. I took over and pushed the pedal in, several times to check. Engine power was fine but I got the CEL light. Pulled codes at O’Reillys. I know what they are but am looking for troubleshooting ideas. Odd both O2 sensors would throw a code at the same time? Help appreciated!

I don't think PO2270/1 are valid odb2 codes.

How familiar are you with the 4runner's drive habits, e.g. overdrive over ride for example? That can affect accelleration on climbs/hills and tranny temps.

O2 sensors are cheap, if you don't know when they were last replaced, just do it. But again, those are not the codes 02 sensors throw, so not really sure what you're up against.

Thanks. The “box” that read the codes mentioned... o2 sensor banks.

I understand O/D and ECT, I had put on ECT several minutes prior in fact but neither was in play when the CEL came on. It drove 85 miles home, just fine.

Well... I've had time today to put my own basic OBD II tool on the machine. I did not pull the codes that O'Reilly did - I got a P0136 code. IIRC that is more specific to the rear O2 sensor. I reset it, and will see if it reappears. Looked to me like the computer had stored two instances of the code...
