New pair of 4 Runners in Chicago area

Hello: I have enjoyed this thread, been very informative. I know a lot of people with old 4runners, no one with new ones, so great to find this forum, thanks to all for valuable information.
In January, I bought a new SR5 Premium in White, my wife liked it and took possession from me. I wanted a White Trail Premium for the locker rear and all, none to be found, ordered it from dealer Jan 29, picked it up on March 28th. Traded in my 2012 GMC Sierra 4whl drive reg cab and my 2012 Yukon. My wife never liked the Yukon, too big for around town for her, I think. She loves the SR5, seems nimble to her. As far as ride, my Trail seems like a Lexus compared to driving my empty bed pickup equipped with tow package and snow plow suspension options. Power is adequate.
Very difficult to find a Trail Premium around here, and no white ones. Always liked 4 runners, thought I would get them while they still have full frame and are made in Japan. Glad that Toyota still offers them, great trucks in a sea of unibodies...Tires are sort of pathetic, and oil filter set up seems ridiculous, other than that, very happy with both of them.

Thanks, I would have liked a dark gray Trail Premium just as well, couldn't find any of those on hand either. My pickup truck I traded in was black, beautiful when clean but impossible to keep clean. I have had many white SUV's over the years, find it is easiest to keep looking halfway decent in salt season.
Like your supercharger badging, very cool. Notice that people seem interested in superchargers for brand new models, doesn't seem like it will happen. Can't remember who, but someone on here said something to the effect that we are lucky Toyota even still offers these trucks as they are, full frame and all. That why I bought them, figure another couple years probably going to unibodies.
Always got a kick out of seeing really old Toyota pickups and 4runners running around with bodies rotted out from the salt here, yet still driving just fine. Enjoy the Spring weather!

Wadle 5, Thanks much for your remarks. It's funny having the 2 more or less identical. Most people don't know the difference between Trail and SR5. Had the garage door open one day, working in the yard, a young guy and his wife out walking their baby, guy stopped to admire and ask me how I liked them.
He showed his wife how practical they are for carrying strollers and such in back. She looked dubious (in a wife like fashion!) but sort of interested when I told her my 64 year old wife loves to drive hers.
On that note, I prefer the interior of the Trail, my wife likes the SR5 2-tone seats. Both are premiums.

Like your blue 4runner, interesting modifications.
